RE: Polishing Metal: Trash To Treasure
I once found a silver plated tea tray at a garage sale in Cleveland. It was a terrible dark grey color and when I asked the price it was a whopping 75 cents. I should add this tray was heavy very, very heavy! I took it to a silversmith I knew to ask how best to polish it. He told me to hand polish it and not to remove the tarnish built up in the ornate design as it added to the character. Then he asked if I needed to know what value to place on it for my home owners policy. He said it was a first quality piece and replacement value would be around $250-$300! I display it proudly! ... RE: Removing Body Odor from Furniture
I like Odo-Ban! Great stuff, big jugs at Sam's Club, but Walmart has smaller spray bottles. Ask for it if you don't see it, they put it in different sections in different stores! You can dilute if needed, check spot before, but used this in flooded basement (no smell after dry, and with incontinent parent ). It was wonderful! I put some on stinky clothes too before wash and even in rinse! Good luck! ... View related article.

RE: Covering Glass on Doors
You can get a small bottle of the liquid used for faux stained glass. You want the clear most likely, and apply it as you like. (Non permanent so if you don't like it just remove!) I did this to a friend's front door and just used my finger to make swirls. But you can apply with a paint brush and design a pattern with toothpick, stipple brush...be creative, This will blurr the images but still let light through. You can apply second layer if needed for more coverage. Good luck! ... View related article.

Take the picture you like best and either have it made into cards or get do-it-yourself cards and stick photos on with double stick tape. ... View related article.

RE: Moldy Smell on Clothes
Sam's Club and some Walmarts carry a product called Odoban. I love this stuff; multiple uses and works wonders. For laundry add some to wash load and rinse if smell is very bad. You can even soak clothes for a bit too. I also used this product a couple times when I had water leaks in my carpeted basement (was on vacation one time and basement sat for couple days before we got home). Use in carpet cleaner and followed by leaving a fan on for a week to make sure the carpet dried even underneath and never had a funky smell after in my basement! Awesome stuff I always keep it on hand! ... View related article.

RE: Recipes Using Potatoes
Egyptian Ats Soup (Red Lentil)
Throw in a pot a couple peeled and cubed potatoes, 1/2 of medium onion, 2 garlic cloves, 1 sliced carrot, 3/4 cup of red lentils, chicken bullion cube and add 6 cups of water or less depends on how many potatoes you used essentially keep veggies covered. Boil until everything is tender and lentils cooked, add water if it gets too low. Let cool then puree in a blender. Put back in pot and warm up season with touch of turmeric (makes color wonderful), pinch of cumin, salt and pepper, 1/4 cup milk and a teaspoon of butter (optional). Serve with slices of rustic bread of plain old Italian bread...delicious! Here in Egypt I buy Semit a sourdough sort of pretzel with sesame seeds instead of salt on it that are sold beside the Nile to dip into the thick soup...YUMMY! Exotic and healthy! ...
