RE: Filling In Acrylic Nails Inexpensively
Wal-Mart sells acrylic fill in stuff for less than $10. Maybe get that kit to fill in, then after it is dry use the rough side of an emery board (about $1 for a pack of several) to smooth it out. Then buffer and repaint the area to match the acrylic nails. I've tried this before with nail glue itself and the results were similar; nail glue is cheap as well. ... View related article.

RE: Cigarette Odors Coming from the Apartment Next Door
Would he allow you to Kilz the particle board area? If you have any air purifiers try that around the plumbing area or vent area that is the worst. We used to have a neighbor that smoked pot next door and the walls are paper thin between rooms and the vents don't go anywhere. I would suggest a spray bottle of Kilz around the area that gets the most damage, if your landlord will allow it. If the walls are already painted white, I don't see what the big deal would be. Good luck! ... View related article.

RE: Paper Or Plastic Bags?
I love, love, love the reusable canvas bags for grocery shopping or other shopping. My reason is not necessarily for the environment, although that in itself is a great reason. I live in the 3rd floor of an apartment complex and these bags hold so much more than plastic and SO MUCH MORE STABLE than paper, so I can put a week's worth of groceries in just one or two bags! Then I can sling the bags over my shoulder like a giant purse and start climbing those stairs.

BONUS: This system works like a squats machine at the gym, so my thighs and butt get a great workout! ... View related article.

RE: Cleaning a Moldy Refrigerator
Remove any food that is still in it.

Try a spray bottle filled with a heavy bleach and water solution and spray liberally all over the shelves, door, and everywhere. Let that stand for several hours, then respray. I've done this before with a fridge that was left open on the back porch in the summer heat. ECH!

If odors are still a problem, try either baking soda or coffee grounds in a bowl in there to absorb the odors. ... View related article.

RE: Keeping Toilets Clean at a Vacation Home
Have you tried emptying the back of the tank? If you drain it and leave it empty and shut of the water to the toilet, it will stay dry and when you come back, it will fill up in a matter of minutes. But then again, I hate scrubbing toilets :) ... View related article.
