Thanks for all these great hints. I'm having a sale next weekend and will be pricing my clothes to move, 50c per item, any item. The better clothes are being sold in lots on Ebay. I understand the frustrations some people have (the insulting haggling, etc.) and why people avoid having sales all together!
I do sell items on Ebay. I've done so over the past several years. Only recently have I decided to list more than a couple things at one time.
We are considering a relocation and with that I am passionate about not moving any more of our belongings than we really want and need. I am planning on participating in a city-wide garage sale next weekend and have many, many things that can be sold at garage sale prices but some things can definitely fetch more $ on Ebay.
As far as hints (things I've learned the hard way):
* Be certain your starting price and what you charge for postage will at least cover your fees. Operating at a loss is a bummer!
* Do research on the internet! There are tips galore about how to avoid mistakes in listing.
* If you are planning on selling for profit, it may be worth it to purchase tools such as templates (I found a good and easy one, write to me if you're interested in a link to the site). I just purchased a French mannequin for clothing sales...
