Profile For Sandra B. - Too creative

Some of us are just too creative. I like to think of various ways to always have humorous reminders all over my home. Bling is in here, for this older lady. I bought a frame table, lined it with white satin. This is now the bling box. All my crystals, anything that sparkles, makes the bling box just a happy table.

RE: Low Suds Dishwashing Detergent
Try Mrs. Meyers laundry detergent. It can be used with cold water, and delicates, even cashmere. I've even tossed leather purses in the washer with this and it never harms a thing. Just everything comes out so clean and fresh. I prefer the lemon verbena scent. ... View related article.

RE: Put Lotion on Hands Before Gardening Gloves
I've a "problem" touching dirt, having a dreadful case of OCD. So, I too will coat my hands with a heavy layer of lotion, then use the disposable latex gloves. Then, the water proof heavy gloves as well. When I'm done, and remove all these layers, I've smooth soft very clean hands. The garden looks great, and my hands look even better! ... RE: 'Makeover' Themed Birthday Party
It would be fun to have "before" and "after" photos as part of the activity. You'd be best going to a dept. store requesting samples of make up for the kids to play with.

You could have the kids design beaded hair clips, let them pick partners to redo their hair and have plenty of fun hair items around for them to work with. The web has many before/after photos that you could print out for them to talk about/and or cut them up and make there own funny faces. It's a great theme with endless possibilities. ... RE: Inexpensive Stump Removal
Let it rot on it's own time. I put several bags of new topsoil on top of the stump. Then, I put small removable shrubs and add some ivy, periwinkle, then a large container filled with colorful annuals. Around the stump, I'll edge it with rocks to make it appear as an island of color. As the tree stump rots, I just keep making this faux "garden" smaller. Before you know it, nature has done it's job and the island is then ready for planting grass. We started doing this after several stumps were removed and that area then kept sinking further down making it necessary to add more soil annually. My island trick does require a few years, but, it's far less hassle and the neighborhood has started to do this same thing in their yards. ... View related article.

RE: Christmas Gift Ideas
This time of the year, many churches and/or organizations hold rummage sales. If you go on the last day, the last hour is usual the "bag" sale time.
This is when you pay only 2 or 3 dollars for a bag to fill with anything left over. Perhaps this way, you could find interesting books, clothing, toys, many things are new even. Bag sales are great ways to load up on things you'd never believe people would just donate. Last week, I was able to find a new with tags, Coach wallet. My husband was thrilled with his new raincoat with zip in lining. I was able to find my sister a book she's been looking for for several months. These sales are the best! ... View related article.

RE: Replacement filler For Sofa Cushions
I had the same problem. The company just didn't want to help at all. So I ordered a 1 inch memory foam bed liner. Removed the inner part of the cushions then cut the memory foam to the size of the cushion, just a tiny bit smaller. Then inserted the foam to the top of the cushion. This was an amazing improvement. The sofa is so comfortable. I can't understand why the furniture industry has not thought of this.
I've recently had a hip replacement so sitting on that uncomfortable sofa was impossible. Now, I'm able to sit there without any pain at all. ... View related article.
