| RE: Removing Labels from Plastic |
Hot water inside the container can be used to remove labels from plastic, metal, or glass. Most labels are heat sensitive, so fill container with very hot water, allow heat to penetrate the label and then begin to slowly peel the label away. Keep the label dry and it is less likely to tear. Any remaining glue residue can be removed with goo gone. ... View related article. |

| RE: Freezing Zucchini Bread |
Before freezing the zucchini bread, I use an electric knife to slice the bread. That way it is ready to serve almost immediately out of the freezer. I don't have a vacuum food sealer, so after placing the wrapped bread inside a plastic bag, I remove as much air as possible and then close the ziploc bag except for a small opening where I stick in a drinking straw. I do my own vacuum sealing by sucking air through the straw and when the bag is tight around the bread I pull the straw out while sealing the bag. ... View related article. |

| RE: Installing Self-Stick Tiles Over Ceramic Tiles |
I am not sure if this will work for you, but years ago I used adhesive back "contact paper" on the tile back splash in an apartment kitchen. Most of the tile was solid beige, but orange tiles were placed at random intervals. I found a striped contact paper that coordinated with the solid beige tile. I cut squares of contact paper the exact size of the tile and covered only the orange tiles. I did not cover the grout lines. Presto, the orange tiles disappeared and my kitchen had a new look for less than $10. ... View related article. |

| RE: Clean Lint Trap To Improve Dryer Efficiency |
I always remove the lint from the filter after every dryer load. However, this seemed like a good tip for additional cleaning and I finally tried it. After a gentle scrubbing with foam soap and brush, the regular removal of lint is much faster, easier, and more thorough. This was a super tip, thanks! ... View related article. |

| RE: Cleaning Porcelain Dolls |
Wrap the dolls carefully and securely in nylon net and then use your vacuum cleaner to suck the dust through the net. The net will hold the hair and feathers in place while the holes in the net will allow the dust to be removed. A similar method can be used to remove dust/dirt from antique clothing. Lay the garment on a flat surface and cover the garment with a window screen. Then vacuum the window screen. ... View related article. |

Like irisbird, I use them for organizing crafting and sewing items. One bag holds a variety of leftover trims and laces and another has zippers that were purchased on clearance for future use. Others are used to hold craft projects that are in process. One with knitting, another with cross stitch, and another with sewing. These are stored in a tote bag so that when I am ready to do some hand work, I can quickly select whatever I want. ... View related article. |
