RE: Daughter's Birthday Quilt
Awesome job!!
How long did it take you to make the quilt?
I want to attempt one made with denim squares but I do not have a lot of sewing experience and zero quilting experience - any tips for me?

RE: Mylar Balloons for Scrapbooking
Most mylar balloons can be refilled again and again with helium. You just take a thin wooden skewer or something similar and push it through the fill hole and squeeze the helium out. Then you can fold up and store until you want to refill it or share with someone else who may need a party balloon. ... View related article.

RE: Dry Ranch Dressing Recipe
This is a good site for finding recipes for various mixes:
http://www.cdkitchen.com
This is what I found searching for ranch:
http://www.cdkitchen.com/search/search.php?c=&order=1&site=kitchenmixes&q=ranch&t=1
There are a couple recipes in the list for 'mixes' that you can store and then add the wet ingredients when you need the dressing.

RE: Brands Not Tested On Animals
Yes, animal testing is not necessary and incredibly cruel!!
Paula's Choice is a line of makeup, hair and skincare products that do not test on animals.
And she has a book that has a list of animal free testing products as well as a comprehensive review of various beauty products which is helpful for allergy concerns and general consumer concerns.
I have used her products and was pleased with them.
Check out the website:
http://www.cosmeticscop.com/default.asp

Also go here:
http://www.caringconsumer.com/products.asp
Look on the left side and click on More under Cruelty Free Companies. This will give you a Word file that can be saved or printed that lists companies that have complete product lines without using animal testing or using animal ingredients in their products. This is a Peta website and I do not endorse Peta as a lot of their information and tactics are not entirely truthful or ethical either but they do provide a continually updated list of companies that are Cruelty Free and that I endorse!!

RE: Saving on Wedding Favors
I have a friend getting married in May and would like to pass this idea on to her but I don't know what you mean by bubble bottles. Excuse my ignorance.

RE: Labeling Food
I use dissolvable labels so you aren't left with the sticky residue on your containers when you remove the label.
I also use a grease pencil and write directly on the bags or containers. Will allow you to write on wet surfaces even. Washes off. ... View related article.

RE: Replacing Paper Filters with Reusable Filter
I tried 2 different ones and find they leave a fine residue of coffee grounds in the coffee. You find it when you get to the bottom of your cup. Not noticeable if you drink coffee black but very unappealing if you put milk or cream in your coffee.
