| RE: Kitten Has Stopped Using Litter Box |
You don't mention how old the kitten is. We have a now 6 week old kitten we got when he was 2 weeks old. We had to teach him what the litter is and what is it for. Once we had him using the litter box, we put him in a bedroom (smaller area than the whole house) and put the litter box in 1 place and left it there. We have now started bringing him out w/supervision into the Living room, kitchen etc, but we make sure it's not right after he has eaten. We have 2 other adult cats in the house and he learned yesterday where their litter box is and used it! I think some patience and restriction on the area he's in will be a big help. If the problem continues...be sure he's seen by your vet. ... View related article. |

| RE: Worming a One Month Old Kitten |
We have a 6 week old kitten we rescued at 2 weeks of age. We took him to our vet @ 4 weeks. He gave us wormer for him...cost about $5.00. The vet said he is too young to do anything else and didn't charge us for the visit. If you have a vet you are on good terms with, maybe the same would work for you. Good Luck! ... | RE: Keep House Cool Without AC |
On the serious side though, I live in Florida so it's hot about 8 months out of the year and I'm always looking for a way to cut our electric bill. I have found that ceiling fans work wonders, but only run them when someone is in the room. They cool people, not rooms. Also, keeping the blinds closed when the sun is in the east and then the west makes a big difference. We keep our A/C set at 78 - 80 degrees and use our ceiling fans and stay comfortable. ... | RE: Getting Teen to Help at Home |
I have 2 great kids 13 & 18. I leave a list of what I want done each day, especially during the summer when they are home most days. I leave a post it note each morning on their TV's in their bedroom reminding them to check the chore list on the kitchen table. They know their jobs are to be done before I get home from work each day. They do get an allowance, 7.50 per week each. There is some hope...my 18 year old just returned from her first year away at college, and has become much more self efficient. She cleans up behind herself (without being told) and I don't have to remind her as much to get stuff done as my 13 year old. I think yours is a normal teenager. ... View related article. |

Does she have fleas? While my dogs aren't allergic to food, my lab mix will scratch herself raw if she gets fleas. I use one of the monthly topical flea products on her and it keeps the fleas away and keeps her from scratching. Good Luck! ... View related article. |

| RE: Thrifty Graduation Gifts |
My daughter graduated from high school a year ago and went away to college in the fall. She received lots of graduation gifts, mostly cash or checks. She liked the money best as she could use it for living expenses and gas money while at college. It was great for us to as she didn't need as much money from us that first semester. We too had several relatives and friends with kids graduating, we sent $25 checks to each of them. ... View related article. |
