RE: Making Soup
Any type of broth will work. Along with any type of meat also. Or, those dry soup mixes added with water will work too. I usually add a can on stewed tomatoes to give it a rich color and flavor. Cook either in a crock or simmer in a pot for a few hours.
Cook noodles and add to bowl before adding soup, do not add the noodles to the pot of soup, the noodles will get gross. BAM, you now have a hearty meal. ... View related article.

RE: Pierogie Recipes
Oh, the possibilities are endless! I suppose that you could make the "wrapping" from scratch, but I cheat a little. I use "wonton wrappers" these can be purchased at any grocery store, they come in squares or circles.

Then put a little, about a TBSP of your choice filling, see below. Fold the wrapper in 1/2, forming a "pocket". The pocket will get sticky with water, so work quickly and on a dry surface. Seal the edges of the wrapper with a little water. Make sure the filling is completely sealed in the pocket. Boil until they float, they are OK to eat at this point, but I also like to pan fried to get them a little brown.

Try gound beef with onion or any leftover meat Sauerkraut and mashed potatoes crab meat or shrimp and veggie cream cheese. or we love fruit ones, fresh blueberries, raspberries.

RE: Using Applesauce Instead of Oil
I use applesauce instead of oil all the time. When I first started doing this, I only replaced 1/2 the oil, to get my family accustomed to it. Then I started slowly replacing more and more until I did not have to use oil anymore. Using applesauce, does give the cake a little different consistency than oil. I would not suggest to use all applesauce in a brownie recipe. Substitute 1/2 and 1/2. ... View related article.

RE: Toaster Oven Recipes
Food tends to cute a bit quicker in a convection oven. My toaster oven does both, bakes and cooks convection. From my experience, meats veggies cook the same way as baking, only 1/3 of the time. I will not suggest to bake using the convection method, brownies and cake come out uneven. ... View related article.

RE: Freeze Bananas In Their Peel
I recently found a similar trick. I hate bananas but I was tired of throwing them away if my kid did not eat them. SO, I decided to cut them in coin shaped pieces and freeze. They are delicious. What a healthy treat on a hot day. Next I am going to try adding Magic Shell for chocolate covered bananas bites! ... View related article.

RE: Freezing Butter
I freeze butter all the time. I found out that if the butter is kept in the original box (the one pound package), it tends to stay a better consistency when thawed. But that's my personal opinion. Then when I am running low, I removed a stick and put in the refrigerator. It thaws over night. ... View related article.

RE: Using Frozen Meatballs
I like to make Swedish Meatballs. Use one container of sour cream, and one jar of Brown gravy. (the powdered gravy will work too, but prepare according to the directions first). I add a little onion and cook in crock pot. Serve as an appetizer or over noodles. ... View related article.
