| RE: Craft: Owl Painted Gourd |

A big round of applause to you! In my opinion, you deserve to win. Please, we want to see more. Do you give "how to paint gourd's" lessons? Do you grow your own gourds? Last year I started planting gourds. I'm not sure that I am drying them properly. Most unusual gourds are so much fun. Thank you so much for your post. Absolutely love it! ... View related article. |

Thank you so much Thenicholas! A big round of applause to you. I can't wait to try Wheat Grass! Our little Jack Russell is like a little cow that is grazing. She is crazy about eating grass. I am very excited about trying your suggestion. I'm tempted to plant her whole fenced in play area in wheat grass. Do you happen to know if you can mow it like regular grass? Will she be attracted to the wheat grass area if we don't plant all her play area? Hopefully wheat grass will help her stomach problems, as I feel sorry for her becoming sick all the time. Again, thanks. ... View related article. |

| RE: What is Chemical Persistence? |
|
Years ago I can remember my father being concerned about neighbor's farming their crops with the use of DDT. He was concerned with the run-off into our gardens and land. I can remember him saying that DDT took a long time to go away as it accumulates for a long period of time before it breaks down. This was way back in the 1950's. Is it possible that DDT is still accumulating today? Surely not! That pretty scary! ... View related article. |

| RE: What is a Stoichiometry? |

I think I understand. If all you have left is residue from the first application, combustion can't happen as the exact proportion of the first chemical used is no longer there and it needs to be complete in order to be combustable. Right? Please let me know if I'm understanding correctly. That is really good knowledge to know. Thank you so much! Now I can clean my carpet to my hearts content without the worry of what chemical's I used prior! ... View related article. |

Is it possible to have a combustionable chemical reaction with a lapse between chemical placement's. Another words, if a chemical is left over in carpeting and dry, can it still mix with a fresh cleaning chemical that was recently used, causing combustion? In my opinion, this is a very interesting conversation. I really appreciate your input even though I'm not sure that I completely understand it. Sorry, it's not you or the way you worded it as it's just me and my old age getting in the way of my learning process. Thanks for the post! ... View related article. |

Murphy's Oil Soap is wonderful on anything stone. It's easy as you can apply with a mop. Personally I wouldn't use it on a marble slab used for candy making but for anything else it's a great product. Sometimes products we have used for years turn out to be just as good, if not better for new fangled home improvements we have invested in. ... View related article. |

Is it safe to use each of the ideas posted, not necessarily at the same time? In other words, if I use the idea of spraying hydrogen peroxide right after my dog has thrown up on the rug, can I clean the whole rug with another product like vinegar or oxy-clean or LA Awesome several hours later? Should I be concerned with what might mix or not mix regarding fumes that may linger because of the mixtures I used? These are questions I have had for a long time. Once something dries, do you have to be concerned with what product you use next? I really don't want to "OD" my family and friends because I am ignorant to what can or can't be mixed and applied in separate segments. Thanx! ... View related article. |

| RE: Keep Ants Out of Your Honey |
|
Beware of bridges to "over troubled water" honey jar! Accidently a large, very thin square sponge, used to wipe counters, ended up partially resting aginst a quart of honey, placed in a moat. Even though the honey jar lid was on tightly, "wishful thinking," ants were all over the jar. A handle to a coffee cup can enable a bridge to the honey jar, even if the handle is bearly touching the jar. The answer is to place your moat with honey jar in a place that has less activity, possibly a kitchen counter that is rarely used for everyday activity. Ant's are so silent. You turn around and there they are. As hard as you try to prevent them, they have it figured out how to get to where they want to go. It kind of makes me wonder, who's out-smarting who! ... | RE: My Husband Has Bad Breath |
|
Has your husband ever tried mixing peroxide and baking soda to brush his teeth with? Many years ago a dentist told me to use that combination and my teeth and gums would always stay healthy. Make small amounts, enough for one time use. You can make it as thick or as thin as you like. Also he can brush his tongue with it. Also, if he likes vinegar, try mixing up a batch of cucumbers, onion, tomatoes with equal parts of vinegar and sugar. You wouldn't need to use that must sugar as it's the vinegar part that helps the stomach. Keep it in the frig, to munch on as often as he likes. It may help fight infection from the inside out. In my opinion, both peroxide and vinegar are good home remedies for many things, but only when used individually. I wouldn't try mixing vinegar with peroxide. I'm not sure what would happen but it sounds like it might make one foam at the mouth. Yikes! Imagine that! ... View related article. |
