RE: Getting Kids To Reuse Towels
I love your trick! I accidentally color coded everything. I say accidentally because after the house fire, we went to the garage sales and bought up all sorts of towels and things. I have three little ones at home, and besides the color coding, we have a method down pat! I recently cut all my hair off and still had left over scrunchies. Since our new "pre-fab" house had no toilet paper holders or towel rods, I had to come up with something creative. We took my old scrunchies and wrapped them over the door knobs with the towels. Now everyone has their own scrunchie and towel color and I have less laundry! ... View related article.

RE: Washing Dreadlocks
Rinse well with White Vinegar and then press each dread dry with towels. The vinegar smell goes away and at the same time, it kills any bacteria that may be breading in the hair. allow to sun dry or use a dry cap--like at the beauty shops. Good luck! ... View related article.

RE: Getting Rid of Pimples Quickly
Good old fashioned Dawn. It takes the grease right out of your way!! I have been using it every other day for about a year now. It has done wonders. On more oily skin about everyday. I have combo skin so I add a few drops to my washcloth and scrub away, then rinse in cool water and then dab apple cider vinegar as my astringent. I know it sounds corny, but try it. To get rid of one, use toothpaste--not gel--but paste over night--AFTER washing your face in warm water and rinsing in cool. Good luck to you--oh and for everyone else, this works as good as Proactiv, only you don't have to use it for the rest of your life in order to keep good results. ... View related article.

RE: Toddler Bangs Head During Tantrum
I have one that did this when he was little. But he did it until he was in kindergarten. My mom was afraid that he might hurt something--not himself but her coffee table or the glass storm door. She jerked him up and asked him if he was mad, real mad. He said yes, and she said good we need a walk then. She ended up walking him through the house and he forgot what he was mad about. This worked over and over and now at age 8, when he gets mad, he will go take a walk around the house until he calms down. The other suggestions are good ones too. It's not as entertaining when they have no one to entertain!! Good luck! ... View related article.

RE: Body Odor Smell on a Mattress
I found out that a spray bottle of vinegar seems to do the trick. Allow drying time before you do this. Just spray it on and then when damp apply baking soda. Take a scrub brush and brush it into the mattress. When almost completely dry, take a vacuum with a beater bar and sweep off the excess. Again, open some windows, you will smell the vinegar. Once it's dry, you won't smell the odor or the vinegar. Then get a mattress protector at walmart--$7-15 and just regularly wash the sheets. I found out with bed wetters this was the simplest and inexpensive way to clean the odors out. When you wash the sheets, wash them in a soap with enzymes and about 2 cups of white vinegar--they will be fresher than ever! Good Luck!! ... View related article.

RE: Discolored Apartment Water
I would definatly say something to the manager about it. It's probably what we call "well water". I found that "Whink Rust Remover, or "the WORKS" removes it with ease--but these chemicals are caustic to the skin. I just take dish soap, and a little bit of baking soda and mix them to make a paste. Get a damp cloth and "soft scrub" the area. It rinses sqeeky clean literally and gets rid of the orange! Best of luck to you! ... View related article.

RE: Make Organizing Trays Out of Cereal Boxes
I never thought of using them like that. I tape my ends shut and slice the box in the middle for "paper trays". My 4 little ones can put there school work that they have brought home from school in them for me to go through later. I take the papers that aren't needed and shred them or make confetti for craft projects later. This is a great organization effort! Great Job! ... View related article.
