Most likely it's an ear infection. My Golden Retrievers smelled so bad all the time regardless of baths and ear treatments. Turned out, switching to Lamb & Rice dog food helped control their infections. Now I just do "maintenance" with a weekly ear cleaning. Talk to your vet and they can help you with the right course of treatment. ... View related article.
This could be SO MANY things! My puppies had this after getting into the cats food and chewing sticks. Needless to say after a few trips to the vet and lots of stool samples, relocating the cat food and removing all sticks from the yard everything turned out fine...BUT you really SHOULD take your puppy to the vet and let THEM diagnose the problem! ... yes, your dog might be growing up and not out. I have an English Mastiff and he seems to get tall, fill out a little; taller, fill out a little; and so on. He's 9 months and 135 pounds. I have to take him to the vet monthly for a weigh in when I get his heartworm meds because, of course, those are distributed by weight and he gains approx. 5 pounds per week. Is your dog being weighed often and really losing weight, or is she just getting taller? She might just need time for her weight to catch up.
The breeder I purchased him from also had Neo's and her breeding stock did NOT look like what I'd seen on the internet. Were you able to see the parents? That could give you an idea of what you'll end up with. Some seem to be more wrinkly than others and the ones on the net seem to be the wrinkliest! Of course those are show dogs.
I agree that if your dog doesn't have worms and has been vet checked, you might want to consult with a good feed store or even a breeder. I understand that these dogs don't completely fill out until they are two to three years of age. I feed Crash Iam's puppy food for large breeds. Good luck! ... View related article.
yes he may have a uti...also how many litter boxes do you have? You should have one for each cat plus one...so for four cats you should have 5 litterboxes in various places (some cats prefer a specific location, a certain amount of litter in the box, etc.). I have five cats and seven litter boxes, and no more problems!...2 wasn't enough even though I scoop three times a day, as one of my cats is picky and doesn't like to share. This has solved the problem. ... View related article.
Yes,it needs stimulation, it won't go on it's own. I used a warm wet washcloth and gently massaged their bottoms. Have you contacted your vet at all? If this doesn't work for you you'll need to take it in. Also, between bottle feedings (of kitten formula, NOT milk!) I gave a small amount of unflavored pedialyte. It will need to be kept warm and cozy, and fed every 1-1/2 to 2 hours. The hard work will pay off! These are the two abandoned kittens I got when they were approx. two weeks old. They are now about 5 months old. ... View related article.
When I adopted two of my cats they came home with medicine because they had an upper respiratory infection. They had crusty eyes and Bailee also had a runny nose. It could be any number of things, you should call your vet, describe the situation and they will tell you whether you need to bring the kittens in or if they can give you something without an appointment. I wouldn't count on it clearing up on it's own, and the mother could become ill as well. They need her to be healthy right now so she can take care of them. I wouldn't take any chances. Your puppy might just be sleepy. Remember she's just a baby. My English Mastiff is now 7 months and he still sleeps a lot. When he first came home he slept all the time. It was just like having a baby, eat, potty, sleep, potty, eat, potty sleep...which meant I got NO sleep at all! The boston terrier breed from what I have seen is an energetic breed. I don't know anyone with an American Bulldog but I thought they had a more mellow temperament. They are supposed to be loyal and protective of their owners. I read that they are reserved towards strangers, so it will just take a little time to get her used to you. Another thing to remember, is she may be acting timid because of all the new things in her environment...new house, new smells, new dogs, new people, new sounds...you get the picture. I'd be scared too! Crash used to cry and he'd snuggle up to this big stuffed monkey ( I think he thought it was his mom, or at least the next best thing) and fall asleep. She'll be ok, she just needs some time to adjust. ... View related article.
I agree with Judy, use the finger toothbrushes...if you should be able to find one at the pet store, or if not, the baby section of another store should have them with the infant teeth cleaning supplies. You can buy dog toothpaste at the pet store also. I began brushing my English Mastiffs teeth right off the bat when he was a puppy. I brush them every other day, just running this finger brush or his doggy brush over his teeth. I don't rinse, it doesn't foam like human toothpaste does. We also have an old Great Dane that was adopted. His previous owners never brushed his teeth or cut his toenails so he won't have anything to do with it, that's why I immediately began working with my puppy. Dogs these size are NOT going to do what they don't want to do!...But I think you should do fine with your little terrier. Once she gets used to it, it should be pretty easy to keep up with. I can do whatever I want with my Mastiff's mouth and he's fine with it, I can take a treat out of his mouth mid chew, hold on to his tongue and all sorts of crazy things. Since he's so used to me working in his mouth he just lets me. ... View related article.
