RE: Painting a Church's Children's Room With Multiple Colors
I Know you mentione painting, but you also mentioned paneling and this is *PERFECT* for paneling.

There's a wallpaper product that is great for kids to HELP HANG...it's called PaperIllusion by Village (See http://www.WallpaperIllusions.com), and they just came out with five NEW colors...geared specifically towards kids (bright and colorful).

Read this article about A Wall Covering for Wood Wall Paneling : http://www.WallpaperIllusions.com/articles/paneling.html

I don't know the age group you're talking about but my nephews (aged 6 & 8) and 10 year old son have helped hang it and they love it! It's safe for kids and SO EASY. You can create a great memory if you are able to make an event of it.

The paper is torn into various shapes, dipped in water and applied directly to a primed surface, overlapping each peice. Unlike regular wallpaper, this paper is made to stick to itself. Also, you don't need to "book" the paper (wait for the glue to activate)...you just wet it and put it on. I personally love this stuff!

As for making the room bigger, you could use the Hearthstone Cream/Bone color on all four walls and then create a stained glass effect using a combination of colors. You can make a cross with one color (in Bubble Gum), create rays of sunshine coming out around the cross in another color (Sunset) and make the background blue (Sky Blue) OR make an ark in one color (in Multi) floating on water (Ocean) against a sunset sky (Sunset). Instead of buying whole boxes of each color, you can get samples, mini-rolls or craft packs depending on how much of each color you need.

Whether you tear the peices or cut them into little shapes, it will still adhere to the primed wall.

As for keeping it affordable, you can just create the stained glass effect directly onto the paneling (be sure the area is primed first with wallpaper primer).

This application is VERY forgiving...it's practically impossible to mess up.

Also, this product is really easy to remove should you decide to make a change. Being prepasted, it is REALLY easy to remove...just wet it real good and peel it off.

If you decide to go this way, email me...I'd love to hear how it turned out! ~ Carrie

You can create a stained glass effect using a combination of colors. Make a giant cross with one color (in Bubble Gum), create rays of sunshine coming out around the cross in another color (Sunset) and make the background blue (Sky Blue).

This application is VERY forgiving...it's practically impossible to mess up. Plus, if the walls get "damaged" in the future, you can easily patch it up with any leftover peices of the product.

Also, this product is really easy to remove should you decide to make a change. Being wallpaper it is more durable than paint...and you can wipe it clean when marks appear (as they always will), but since it is prepasted, it is REALLY easy to remove...just wet it real good and peel it off.

RE: Painting Ideas for a Room With Half Dry Wall and Half Paneling
Would you consider another solution to painting? There's a wallpaper product called PaperIllusion which works great over paneling. You don't need to fill in the grooves or do any special prepping...just clean the walls and apply a wallpaper primer. It's REALLY EASY to apply...your son could even do it (I don't know how old he is) SERIOUSLY. Check it out here: http://www.wallpaperillusions.com/ I'll be glad to answer any questions you might have. Good luck! ... View related article.

RE: French Bistro Style Kitchen
Village wallcovering puts out a product called PaperIllusion, and it comes in a bunch of colors. It's faux finish wallpaper with a twist. You tear it into peices, dip it in water and apply it to a primed wall, or countertop, or cabinets and it has an amazing faux finish effect. I've used it myself and love it. You can check it out here: http://www.wallpaperillusions.com/

Otherwise I've seen some neat wallpaper & border patterns in a book called Le Bistro by Carey Lind. If you want to browse the book, you can find it here for a great price: http://www.wallpapertrends.com/
