RE: Storing Capsicums in Oil
How do you freeze the peppers? I had good results if I deseeded and then cut them up (sliced or diced, depending on what I needed), froze them solid in one layer on a cookie sheet, then placed them in a baggie.
They won't keep too well in oil since they have too much water in them. It would be best to grill them first, remove the skin and seeds and then store them in oil, if you would like to try that.
Hope that helps! ... View related article.

RE: Uses for Unmatched Socks
Thanks a lot, everyone! Love the ideas and will definitely put them to use. And btw, my daughter came up with another one. Use the really ratty socks to stuff the dog's pillow, from the mouth of babes! ... View related article.

RE: Keep Small Jars Organized in a Plastic Basket
I do this in my freezer, since I cook in bulk for the week. I divide the food according to the number of servings I need in labeled freezer ziplock bags (some, like spaghetti sauce, can be one serving each since the kids like pasta or pizza for a snack), freeze them flat and then store them on end in small, labeled baskets to organize them according to main ingredient - beef, chicken, vegetables, etc. Saves time and stress going through all the frozen food chucked everywhere! Gives me more space, too. ... View related article.

RE: Using Stale Coffee
Mix the coffee grounds 50-50 with whole or refined sugar, add an equal amount vegetable oil to make a paste, and you get a high-caffeine sugar scrub, perfect for those jiggly areas we all have. Scent can be added with ground spices (I like cinnamon and cloves) or a few drops of almond or vanilla flavoring.
BTW, packaged in a nice jar, this makes a great gift for the girl friends! ... View related article.

RE: Using Petroleum Jelly as a Moisturizer
From what I've read, don't! Try using a cold-pressed vegetable oil like olive, almond or virgin coconut oil instead. It's lighter and won't hurt your health. As a bonus, cold-pressed oils keep their vitamin A content and don't clog your pores. And, you can use them as makeup removers, too! ... View related article.
