Profile For carnation037 - a little about me

I'm a 56 year old female, retired, and married to my soulmate for 29 years. We have two sons, both married with children and they have their own places. There are 5 grandchildren, ranging in age from 21 to 2. I like to read, do crafts, work in my flower beds, camp, and search for recipes and other helpful things on the internet. Spending time with family and friends is very important to me.

RE: Knobs for Kenmore Stove Top
Home Depo has generic sets of stove top knobs.
They have adapters to make them fit many
different brands. Was about $25 the last I saw.
Maybe Lowe's would have them also. ... View related article.

RE: Dryer Isn't Drying Clothes
Dryers have thermostats inside.
There are usually 2 on the heating element holder.
They should just be able to be popped off and
then the new one popped back in.
They have a light metal tops, kind of a circular
shape that look as if 2 sides got pulled out of
shape with prongs on the bottom.
There is also usually another one, that is not on
the heater holder, but near it, that is oblong and is
plastic with little prongs. I think it is called a thermal
coupling.
I would try replacing that one first. ... View related article.

RE: Dog Keeps Stealing My Phone
Dogs react much like a toddler or young child.
They may feel you are spending too much time
talking on the phone and not paying them
enough attention and then act out.
Have you tried petting or including your pet in
your telephone conversations with friends/family?
Can't hurt to try it. ... View related article.

RE: Key Locks Differently
I think it's a personal choice. It sure would be nice to not to have to look for a different key. Then again if someone got your keys, they'd be able to get in any entrance. I have different keys for different doors.

I am confused, why would you give a key to someone to check on your pets, get your mail, water your plants, etc while you are away if you do not trust them? Because that is what it sounds like to me by stating you don't want them to enter at other times, which they wouldn't do IF they are trustworthy. I've had some of my friends and neighbors house
keys to help them out at different times over the years, and they mine. I still have most of them. The only time anyone has asked for the key back was if they were moving, or a famly member was coming by and didn't have their key so I could let them in. ... View related article.

RE: Buying Pop Up Camper Curtains
Have you tried contacting the manufacturer of your pop up? That'd be the first place I'd try. If you can sew, it would be much cheaper to make them yourself. ... View related article.

RE: Can a Peppermint Air Freshener Repel Mice?
The cleanest of houses can get mice inside, especially in very cold or inclement weather. A good strong peppermint gum chicklet would last longer than a spraying of air freshener. It will deteriorate some and that is when you would replace it with another one. ... View related article.

RE: Will Filing for Bankruptcy Affect a Judgment?
I agree with Larswife. We were told that once a judgement has been made it has to be paid. IMO also changing the laws is not for the better.

RE: What Breed is My Dog?
Looks like a Whippit blend with maybe Sheppard. Except for the face, she sounds like the dog our son and his wife adopted from a pet rescue a few Christmases back. Theirs is a male, with that same body and curly tail but his face is a bit thinner and more pointy. I say this cause they were told Whippet terrier mix via the vet. He runs like the dickens, is very loving and gentle with kids. He is smart and they have done some training with him. He is also scared of many things, like rain for instance. He will not go out if he knows it is raining. A very good loving friend. He also gets the hello from us when we walk in the door like the rest of the family. Have fun with yours. ... RE: Save Those Used Tea Bags
I also like to feed my outdoor plants with coffee grounds from our morning coffee. Do let the grounds cool, then just sprinkle around the base of plants. You can also mix the grounds with potting soil when doing indoor plants. This seems to help make them bloom and color more, at least for me. ... View related article.

RE: What Breed is My Dog?
Over the last 30 years, we've had a couple of dogs that looked like this little cutie. They were a labrador/shepherd mix. If I can find a puppy picture of either, I will try adding it so you can see...by the way, they were both male dogs.
