| RE: Pictures Stuck to Frames |
I have taken advice from archivists and have learned that water alone doesn't hurt prints. In the days of old my Dad , in his dark room , used to run the prints thru various solutions and hang them to dry.
I took old albums of black paper where some members had glued the pics to the album. We soaked them in the sink in warm water and they eventually loosened and freed themselves from the paper. We then laid them carefully on wax paper laid another layer of waxed paper over them. The next step was to weigh them down so they dried flat.
After all this we identified each one in the pic and put them in new albums from Wal Mart. My aunt and I no sooner finished this huge project which took us 3 weeks and she became ill and passed. The albums are a wonderful gift to the family as she was the last one who could ID the pics. Laurie Ontairo ... View related article. |

| RE: Ziplock Party Omelets |
I hope many of you have picked up on the available information on plastics. We cleaned them out of our house years ago after my husband attended a Real Estate lecture and a Ph.d in biology lectured on the dangers of the plastics to the environment and the planet. Later a major station had several episodes of a documentary showing the effects of the plastics on the animal and human life. Boys most particularily are affected.
Google Plastics, environment and begin to learn. I wouldn't feel right about using them in our microwave either. Glass is best, it doesn't absorb, you need an inert product . Laurie Ontario ... View related article. |

In 2009 I would use a nice food processor. Add remaining ingredients and cook until thick. Fill sterilized jars with 1/2" headspace and process in hot water bath 20 minutes. This makes only ONE QUART so you would have to increase it to make a goodly batch. Laurie from Ontario ... View related article. |

Every grain, or cereal or pancake mix and all the flour in our house has been protected for many years by purchasing one bag or two of bay leaves at the bulk food store. Drop bay leaves in all the jars of the above products and you will never be troubled by bugs or beetles of any sort again. It has worked in our family for years and continues to protect our pantry shelves without having to freeze any of it. ... View related article. |

| RE: Making a Deep Kitchen Cabinet More Accesible |
Hi, i have read about your troubles with your lower cabinets. I have found a solution and have shared it with many others. Go to your big box store like home depot and purchase a mechanics stool, it is low, with 5 wheels and a tray over the wheels. We keep one on each floor. Imagine my glee when I could sit and clean out the frig with no trouble, knees are still fine.
I roll along to the lower kitchen cabinets and they get a tidy each week so they are in order and so I can see what is there. [Way too deep and I forget what is stored there]. They work all through the house, last week the stove needed a good clean and it worked again. My husband uses one in the basement for various things. Good luck. Laurie in Ontario ...
