For a spoon rest, I like to use a piece of melamine (remember Melmac?) dinnerware. It is something that I really don't care about and that won't crack if I accidentally put the spoon down too hard.
Hi, there! I have a cute key rack that I mount on the wall in the kitchen. My keys are usually to be found hanging right there. I has really helped in not having to race around the house at the last minute before having to leave the house because the keys are unavailable. If I get lazy and don't hang them up and have to go on a hunt again, I am quick to get back into the habit of hanging them again because the other way is so frustrating. You can "hang em high" to keep out of the reach of the kids. Hope this works for you!

I know if I were trying to clean out my basement, I would feel overwhelmed. I believe the Flylady method (just Google it) is the best for shaping up one's home in general. It is a zone cleaning type of system, and if you stick to the Program, it really works! And it is totally free----and fun! Your basement can be the "extra room" (Program terminology), your procrastination assignment, etc. You'll see what I mean if you go to their site. Best of luck!
I like to always keep some soap in a hanging basket in the bathroom. It helps it to dry out and get harder, and it scents the room at the same time. After starting to use soap, it just needs to be elevated to let the air circulate. I use a mesh pocket to use up slivers of soap, and just keep any bars which are well on their way to being used up (but are not yet slivers) on top of that mesh pocket. I think it really helps to use the coupons on items that are on Special Sale that particular week. Sometimes you can get items free or nearly free. That is very rewarding!
