Unfortunately, I've had a few brain cells pass away in the past, and cannot recall the daggone name of the stuff, but my military now-ex-husband had a wonder fix for bright brass. It comes in a can and looks like dirty cotton, but polishes brass buckles to a fantastic shine. Maybe call a military surplus store to get the name of it. If I recall it soon, I'll post! ... This is extremely similar to the recipe found on the side of the Duncan Hines cake mix box...it is called a Sock-It-To-Me cake....is fantastic with a powdered sugar/milk glaze poured over it. My mom's been making this for us for many years as it has always been dad's favorite! ... View related article.
Another way to make BBQ pulled pork from frozen tenderloin...place the tenderloin in a roasting pan or casserole dish deep enough to hold water and the lid fits over the roast...add at least an inch, but as much as you can without boiling over...bake at 325 all day....makes a nice warm kitchen...at the end of the day when you are almost ready for dinner, take the meat out of the pan, shred it (I use two forks pulling away from one another), add your favorite BBQ sauce, heat completely, and eat. It is easy to refreeze this as well. I just pack into freezer bags and when the time comes, I place the frozen BBQ pork into a pan with a bit of water and more sauce and enjoy with little effort. I made 40 pounds of this for my son's graduation party over the summer, but the meat was made up a month in advance. I bought the meat on sale (50% of the reg. price) and it was even better after it had been frozen and reheated. It gave the sauce time to work its magic! It is fantastic if while it is in the oven, you also add salt, pepper, and chopped green pepper. Yum!! ... View related article.
Another Reindeer pattern that I've used for many years..... Take one of the child's shoes and trace this onto the center of a large piece of paper, toe down towards the bottom of the page. Then trace each hand, the heel of each hand placed on the left and right side of the "heel" of the shoeprint;these become antlers. Hand draw eyes, nose and mouth (I used different expressions for each of my five children's reindeer, lashes for the girls, etc.). Color them, laminate them, and hang them every year. My kids are in awe of how much they've grown over the years, and I get to cherish the memory of those "baby 'deer" ! ... View related article.
Robin, I always love your recipes! This one caught my eye in that it is one my family has used for three generations. One of the differences is that we make the sauce in a skillet and just make sure to stir until thick, then let cool completely. It is wonderful over a mixture of one can pineapple tidbits, three sliced bananas, a handful of chopped pecans, and about a cup of marshmallows. My son loves it over kiwi, strawberries, bananas and green seedless grapes. Serve all chilled. ... View related article.
Leslie, I have five children with the youngest one having just turned three and the oldest is almost 19. I never had a problem getting pregnant until we tried for the now-3 year old. My cycle was always very irregular (from the beginning) and changed the older I have become. My doctor prescribed a drug called Clomid to aid in regulating my cycle. A course of the drug is three pills, one per day, at a certain time of your cycle...One course and I was pregnant on the next cycle. Some women do not ovulate at the time we have been taught to think as 'normal'. A good doctor will begin at the least invasive point (sperm count and viability tests) and progress from there. No two women can ever undergo the same treatments and expect the same results. I believe in a heal-thy-self attitude when it is done with caution and care. Your health and that of your future children is not something you want to just "wing it" with. Do your research and really TALK to your doctor. I learned that every single pregnancy is different because I am a different me as I age. Best of luck....with lots of, what I and a circle of friends call, "Baby Dust". God Bless! ...
