RE: Are Toads Harmful To Dogs?
I have lived in the same house in Charleston WV for 10 yrs and never seen a toad. 2 yrs ago my weimer, who was at the time 6 yrs and about 150pds, yeah so misty (my weimer) was a little obese but she had issues and was a pure bread rescue. Anyhow, she came in the house started convulsing. I held my hand in her mouth & we rushed her to the emergency vet, as we pulled up she defecated in the car & quit breathing. They immediately did cpr & she came back for about 15 min, during this time she kept vomiting a black tar like substance. The Vet said that weimers have a habit of swallowing before they investigate and she had swallowed a toad. I now have another weimer and a bulldog. I have only seen 1 since then. Then tonight there is 5 sleeping beside my weimer under my outside canopy with the lawn furniture! I hate those nasty things and they are big! I looked them up and they appear to be giant toads!! I have a garden for those who say "don't kill", they aren't anywhere near it. They are just harassing me and the dogs, any comments on killing from a distance I would appreciate. I absolutely hate these nasty things. ... View related article.
