RE: Crafts Using Unmarked Paint Cans
I've seen some adorable cans altered to hold baby or bridal shower gifts. Add some paper and ribbon, and you're all set. Here's one simple example: http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/gallery/photo/831268?cat=13130

They're also fun to use to hold "survival kits" - this site has some great ideas (just hit enter to view them all) - http://www.kimstamps.com/skits.htm ... View related article.

RE: Where to Find Iron Shut Tea Bags
Not sure what you're planning to do with them, but how about making your own out of coffee filters and some stitch witchery (iron-on fusible webbing that can be found in the fabric dept at Wal-Mart). I know I've seen these supplies suggested for making "bath tea" with dried flowers. Good luck! ... View related article.

RE: Food Christmas Gift Ideas
There are a ton of ideas here: http://budget101.com/gifts.htm I personally would recommend stuff like soup mixes (if they'd actually be used) I would think that both boys would really appreciate food boxes, though, as long as the stuff is easy to prepare (translation: just add water!)

The suggestion of "time" gifts for the parents is a good one. Yard care, a night or two of meals prepared and delivered, etc. ... View related article.

RE: Craft Ideas for Assisted Living Home
Going along with the wreath idea already suggested, how about making one out of foam leaf stickers? You can find a tub of them very inexpensively at chain craft stores (or could also be ordered from Oriental Trading). You could either use paper plates for the base, or cut circles from foam. I think they'd look great! You could also do a wreath with a wax paper center, that includes a single pretty leaf. Good luck! ... View related article.

RE: Good Quality Fabric Scissors
I swear by my Ginghers. I've had them for about twenty years now, and they're still going strong. They cost a bit more, but they truly will last a lifetime. ... View related article.

The other poster had some great suggestions. My only other thought would be to possibly donate them to a church (be sure to get a receipt for tax purposes) ... View related article.

RE: Where Can I Get A Miss Elizabeth Scrapbook?
The Miss Elizabeth line is exclusive to Dollar Tree. Mine occasionally has scrapbooks, but quite frankly the quality is pretty lousy (although their stickers and papers are quite nice!). I'd recommend going to a chain craft store and purchasing a simple solid colored scrapbook, and then embellishing with ribbon, etc. to make it better coordinate with the papers. ... RE: Homemade Kool-Aid Playdough
Here's the recipe I use. I don't think it's the one you had in mind, but it's highly recommended.

Combine 1 1/2 c. flour, 3/4 c. salt, 1 1/2 c water, 1 Tb cream of tartar, 2 tsp vegetable oil, and 1 packet unsweeted kool-aid powder. Stir together and cook over low heat for about 3 minutes, stirring frequently, until it begins solidifying. Once it has started clumping up, remove from heat and allow to cool. Now play!! Store in a sealed container. ... View related article.
