Profile For Peechee - Natural Beauty Consultant - Green on the Skin is In

Hello there!

My name is Peechee and I am a Natural Beauty Consultant.  I am all about using skin care products (or even making your own products) that is safe for your skin and the environment.

Large companies, in order to make more money, have added so many unnecessary ingredients in their products just to make short cuts so there's more profit.  Well, the problem is that those short cuts are hurting all of us - from skin problems, lung problems, hormone alterations, and even cancer.

It is my goal to show everyone that there are better, cheaper, and safer ways to look and feel beautiful.

Please visit my website to learn more about what and why I do this.  Get a free gift from me just for visiting!

RE: Frugal Eye Make-Up Remover
Ladies, ladies!

Please don't use petroleum jelly, baby oil, Vaseline. They have mineral oil in them and that's a NASTY chemical that is so unsafe for you skin. The skin around your eyes is so sensitive and so thin, why would you put bad things on them that is dangerous to your system.

To be truly frugal and healthy, use olive oil. It is wonderful for removing all make-up - even waterproof mascara. And it leaves your skin so smooth after the oil has soaked in. If you have oily skin (lucky you) and don't want that extra oil, then just wash your face off with an all natural tea tree soap. ... View related article.

RE: Printing on Contact Paper
You can run it through but it won't dry. It will smear to the touch.

If you are looking to make your own decals, they have special decal paper (I think by Avery) that you can print on and cut out. Very similar to contact paper.

You could try and do your own too by using transparancy sheets. Print what you want on the shiny side of the sheet but print it backwards (mirror image). Be careful as it will be wet. Carefully place the printed side on whatever you are looking to have the print on and once applied (don't move it), rub the letters. The ink will transfer.

Another option, if it's small decal is using clear strapping tape. Print your design or saying on normal paper but set it to be on really dark ink (or really saturated). The more ink the better. Then stick the clear strapping tape on top. Be careful not to get any wrinkles. You want it as flat as possible. Then rub the image hard with a credit card or popsicle stick (anything to really transfer the image onto the tape). Once you've rubbed the whole image, put it in water for a couple of minutes to soak the paper. If the paper is soaked enough, you can then rub the paper off of the tape and what will be left is your image on the tape. Amazingly, the tape will still have adhesive capabilities. Just make sure you rub all the paper off. Takes a bit of rubbing to get it done but well worth it.

Hope that helps.

RE: Saving Money On Soaps
Great tip! It's true that you can use soap pretty much on anything. Just be sure it's soap that does NOT contain SLS (sodium lauryl sulfate) and/or triclosan.

SLS is what makes soap foam up and is a skin irritant linked to several skin problems and skin allergies. Triclosan is what makes soaps anti-bacterial. Not only does it kill the bad bacteria but it also kills our good bacteria which actually makes us more susceptable to more illness. Plus, triclosan cannot be filtered by our sewer system and so ends up in the ocean for our fish to ingest which in turn we ingest the sick fish and the cycle continues. Triclosan is very harmful to the environment.

So if you are going to get soap, be sure it doesn't have all those harsh chemicals that's bad for our bodies and the environment. Natural and organic is best. But be careful. Just because it says natural doesn't mean the companies didn't add "other" things in it. Read your labels and know the companies. Pure castile soap is wonderful whether in liquid or hard form. It's soap made from mostly olive oil and you can use it for (like you said), shampoo, dishwashing liquid, laundry detergent, home cleaning, etc.
