| RE: Removing Odor from Leather Purse |
This is a tough one. Here are the three things I would try myself. 1) Air it out. Put it in the garage or outside for a day - usually air and sunshine does wonders.
2) Turn it inside out. Then place a cotton ball moistened with white vinegar and put the whole thing in a plastic bag - ziplock if small enough. Leave it for a day. Try it a second time.
3) Turn it inside out. Place a fabric softener sheet and purse in a plastic bag or ziplock for a day. ... View related article. |

| RE: Cleaning Smelly Socks |
|
Not an obsession for me anyway. I found that using the white vinegar in the rinse cycle will remove odors from clothing. My husband works in a restaurant and this helps me remove odors from his shirts. Even mine, sometimes perfume can linger, so this really works and is so cheap to use. ... View related article. |

| RE: Cleaning Smelly Socks |
|
I wash socks separately. I select the longest wash cycle, use warm or hot water depending how dirty - I add a little dish soap to the machine as well! But my trick is I use two rinse cycles: the first, I put about a half cup of vinegar into it then the second rinse, I use my fabric softener. While the second rinse is not totally necessary I like it. The vinegar sanitizes and removes odors; it also softens but I like using a little fabric softener - therefore, the second rinse which will also ensure the germies are gone that make the socks sticky. ;P ... | RE: How can I get rid of lady bugs in my house? |
I have a few in my house too. They seem to congregate by my lights. So I take a cup and a card or newspaper, flip them into the cup and cover it. Once you get a few in there, Open a window and shake the cup so they fly out.
They can fly in when you are simply walking into your home. They are small so its hard to notice! I seem to catch 7-10 every day and set them free again.
A few years ago we had a huge amount so hubby just opened the windows and they flew out themselves. If it is a day that its a little warmer then it is also a great way to freshen the air in your home too. ... View related article. |

| RE: Tips on Introducing Two Cats |
I recommend putting a towel or clean blanket for each cat to lay on. Then after a day or two swap them. Or rub one with a towel then rub the other with the same one.
Basically, its like people. You may not like everyone you come in contact with. Same with cats. They will eventually learn to live with each other, although they may not like each other. I have two cats in my home that don't like each other and will avoid each other, when face-to-face, they hiss and swat. I have four all together.
I would just recommend that you make enough places for each cat to have their own spot to be safe. I have one cat who lies on my dryer, another on the couch, another on the office chair and another on a kitchen chair. They all sleep with me.
When I brought home two of mine (together) the stress level in the house was high for six months. Now there are occasional hisses/swats but mostly a quiet house. =)
Remember to give your kitty the most of your attention.
Good Luck. ... View related article. |

| RE: Musty Smell in Basement |
I have used Odo Ban in a spray which I have purchased from Walmart and it says it is pet friendly. Nice Scent. I have used Simple Green as well which is nontoxic. With both I spray carpet and wipe down stuff.
I have also used white vinegar left in bowls around the room. Spritzed the carpet as well. Takes longer for the vinegar scent to disappear but it is a disinfectant and mold killer as well.
Lavendar essential oil is another good disinfectant. Mix about 8 drops with water in a spray bottle and have at it. ... View related article. |

| RE: Stinky Towels |
|
Mine did too. Now I wash as usual but in the rinse cycle I put a splash of vinegar (1/4-1/2 cup) and the smell is gone. It removes all smells from the fabric and any leftover detergent. It softens too. The vinegar scent will disappear in the dryer cycle. Sometimes I do a second rinse with my liquid fabric softener. ... View related article. |
