RE: My Dog is Constipated
A product called "The Missing Link" has worked wonders for both my Bichon and Golden Retriever - even helps with skin problems and weight maintenance. You can get it at http://1800petmeds.com or I have also found it a Petsmart. It is relatively inexpensive and certainly worth a try. ... View related article.

RE: Puppy Is Losing Hair
If you can find it, try a product called "The Missing Link". It is a dietary supplement. It worked wonders for my Bischon with a similar problem. I purchased it a 1800pedmeds.com, but I recently found it a Petsmart as well.
It is worth a try for sure! ... View related article.

RE: Homemade Laundry Powder
I have been using this same recipe for about a year now and I LOVE it! Just use the recipe that started this post. 1 cup bar soap (Fels Naptha is what I use, sometimes hard to find, but once you find it, it is only about $1.25- $1.50 a bar. I have used Ivory, but I think Fels Naptha does a better job). 1/2 cup washing soda & 1/2 cup borax. So easy! 1T per load (2T if it is a heavily soiled or large load).

Sometimes I grate up those bath bar slivers left over and throw those into my laundry soap as well.

For a fantastic stain remover: equal parts vinegar, amonia, peroxide & liquid laundry soap. Make sure to add the laundry soap last or it will foam up on you. Put in a spray bottle. Note: Don't leave on the clothing for a long period of time. Spray then wash.

My last tip.... LOVE this one! Fabric softener. 6 cups water, 3 cups vinegar & 2 cups hair conditioner. Find a hair conditioner that you like the smell of. It doesn't have to be expensive, you can even use something from the $ store. I like the Ocean scents - they tend to smell similar to Downey. Use as you would any softener. It won't leave a residue on your clothing or towels. ... View related article.

RE: Is 13 too young to have a boyfriend?
I have a 13 year old daughter too, and YES, personally I think it is way too early. I am glad your daughter is open to talking about it with you. That is a very positive thing! Keep the communication open. ... View related article.

RE: Family Closet
Loved this idea.... Immediately after reading this I had to jump right in re-oragnize my laundry room to work this way too. It turned out perfect! Fortunatly I have a small laundry room upstairs where all our bedrooms are. I decided to make it only a "closet" space for my children's clothes. I hung a "shoe cubbie" on the back of the laundry room door and now store their undies/socks/etc in these cubbies. I even saved myself a spot for a pair of scissors, pencil, small notepad, and other misc items I like to have handy. Above my washer & dryer I put in a tension shower curtain rod. From here I hang all their shirts and few dresses. I found a hefty bookself in anther room and moved it into a small cut out space in the laundry room. It fit perfectly. I found some storage bins that fit on the shelves. Each child has their own shelf. Each shelf holds 3 separate bins. 1 for jammies, 1 for shorts/tank tops/ etc., another for pants/etc.

My favorite part is I am in control of what they are wearing. Everything is always put away, and I am not nagging them. They no longer change their clothes 5 times a day. I can monitor what their have and what they need. No more clothes falling off the hangers in their closets and no more washing clean clothes because the never got put away in the first place, got left on the dresser, or somehow made their way under the bed.

Thanks so much for your post. I am just loving my new laundry room!! :-) ... View related article.
