For my daughters wedding we decided to make the invitations. First we went to Micheals to shop for invitation kits. They were pretty pricey considering you would have to buy your own ink, however we bought them on a sale week and got them for 1/2 price! They were just what my daughter wanted and went with the theme of the wedding exactly. We purchased 2 boxes each containing 50 invitations, 50 response cards and matching envelopes. The only draw back was that the kit only had outer envelopes. We got online to find the correct way to address them, so that was not really a problem. We used our own computer and my daughter chose her design from looking at magazines and just pulling from what she liked the best. They turned out beautiful and we could not have been more pleased. The total cost (including new ink) for 100 invitations was $80, a far cry from what we had priced in the bridal magazines. Good luck and have fun! ... View related article.
My daughter is getting married in June and even though I have seen slide shows for several occasions I never thought of doing it for the reception. What a fantastic idea! Showing pictures of the bride & groom growing up, dating and becoming a couple would be a wonderful way to pass time. I just hope I can get enough pictures together by then. Also, how do you suggest it be shown? Our reception is going to be held outside following the wedding (1pm).
