RE: Burnt Cookie Sheet
Spray it with oven cleaner. Put the pan inside a plastic garbage bag and seal it shut. Leave it for 24 hours. Use rubber gloves to take it out. Anything burned on will come right off. This works for anything that has baked on. I do this when I am cleaning the oven racks as well. ... View related article.

RE: Fever Blister Remedies
When you feel a fever blister coming, apply ice wrapped in a paper towel directly to the area for at least 30 minutes. This will greatly reduce the blister and itching. I use Herpecin L on my lips until it is completely healed. I have found this product eliminates the itching and the pain. You can but it at Wal-mart.

RE: Homemade Heat Packs
Fill a cotton tube sock 3/4 of the length with plain white rice and sew the end shut. Heat this in the microwave on a pie plate (to keep it clean) for 2 minutes. I usually put a washcloth under the heated sock at the beginning because it is really warm. As it cools, I remove the washcloth. It will stay warm for about 20 minutes. Mine have been used repeatedly. ... View related article.

RE: Teaching Toddlers
As the mother of 7 children and a day-care provider for 20 years, my suggestion would be to read to him for 15-20 minutes twice a day. Small children need to hear the correct way to pronounce words and sounds. There is no greater gift to a child than the sound of his mother's voice in a peaceful setting.
I also say what I would like them to say. If the child can say "Milk" when they are thirsty, I reply with, "May I have some milk please?" They pick up the way to say the entire sentence very quickly.
Most importantly be patient and loving. Don't compare your child with others. He will learn and grow at his own pace, sometimes ahead and sometimes behind. I find simple encouragement, like clapping my hands, and saying,"That's great!",
helps them feel loved and eager to please.
