RE: Uses For Wallpaper
I used wallpaper as wrapping paper. I have often gone to a wallpaper store and purchased end rolls with neutral colours and used them to wrap gifts. It is much more cost effective than purchasing wrapping paper. ... View related article.

RE: The Weekly Worries
Here is a tip - go shopping on a push bike. We are living in Denmark and the main form of transportation is on the bike. I have some bags that attach to the back of the bike and basically what I carry home is what we eat.

You will not buy any more than you need and you will certainly think twice before you buy milk and potatoes on the same trip. Even though I was quite good about buying food when we lived in Australia I still had things spoil in the fridge. This is no longer a problem. Everything is very expensive so we eat smaller portions, we exercise more and cannot over indulge.

The first week we were here I had to walk to the shops with a push bag for the groceries. One day I did 5 kilometre round trip. Let me tell you food is very heavy when you are the one carrying it back to the apartment.

It is too easy to buy things when you have a car. You simply don't think twice about purchasing anything. Seriously I think that is the key - we need to think and not mindlessly shop.

RE: Clothing That Makes You Look Slimmer
For your height please take into consideration that colours will make you look shorter if you use two different ones, eg. top and shirt. Please use the same colour for the top and pants/skirt and use colour in a jacket that is tailored in the back. This gives you the appearance of a waist and and provides shape (I have no waist so this is a trick that I use to make me look more shapley).

You may want to use darker colours like brown or grey with a bright jacket (or shirt) of say orange, silver or copper. Something that will compliment your skin, hair colour or eyes. Use accessories to attract people to the areas you want them to look at. You can use makeup to attract people to your eyes (if they are a feature for you), a necklace to draw them to your neck, things like that.

One thing though is be critical about what you want to wear, do not wear it just because you have it (unless your are cleaning house and it doesn't matter), wear it because it makes you feel good. I have given away stuff that I have finally admitted doesnt look good on me. Ask a good friend who will be truthful to tell you if the clothes look good on you.

I have stopped buying things just because they are on special. Buy a few selected items that make you feel attractive and wear them all the time. I believe a famous actress said this - can't recall her name.
