Profile For Laniegirl - Domestic Doll

Hi, I am 68 and the mother of five children, all grown, 4 boys and 1 girl with twins my last two.  I am a do-it-yourselfer and am always looking for ways to save money (with 5 children, it got to be a way of life).  I am adept at sewing, gardening, home dec and baking.  I enjoy this newsletter immensely and have learned so much from it.

RE: Decorating to Coordinate with Gray Carpet
Well gray is a neutral so just about anything would work but I found that when looking for things when I had my gray carpet, there were very few things that would work. Seems like most things are in the brown family. You could always go with black and accessorize in bright colors. Then it would all work together. With gray, you have to have something bright or it is a depressing room. At least that is my opinion. ... View related article.

RE: Link: Black Friday Ads Website To Preview Sales
The thing I don't understand about Black Friday is that when you read these ads, does the price apply to online shopping as well? For instance I am interested in a computer at Walmart but can't figure out if it also pertains to online buying. ... View related article.

RE: Painting Laminate Countertops
Yes Skanepa, I was referring to yours. They are all nice but I like your blending better. I already got a new laminate top but I probably wouldn't have if I had raed all this first. I was worried about trying to make meals, etc. with all that going on. ... View related article.

RE: Best Sealant for Painted Laminate Countertops
Skanepa, when you put on the glaze, did you smooth it out very lightly with a foam brush? I had my hardwood floors done a few years ago and when they put the varnish on, they used a tool that was like a paint pad, it was wider however. I would think that would take out the bubbles although I have never done it. You are right the oil based varnish yellows something terrible. I would never recommend anyone do that. ...
