RE: Why Is Laundry Detergent so Expensive?
Yes laundry soap is expensive where I live just like it is everywhere else. It costs because the manufacturers KNOW we NEED it & we'll buy it no matter what the price. And this applies to almost everything today. I make my own laundry detergent & fabric softener so it doesn't hurt my pocket book. Take care. ... View related article.

RE: Lavender Oil in Laundry
Thank u everyone for your lavender tips. I really appreciate your responses! I hang dry outside, except in the winter, which is when I would really want the lavender smell. But I still do not use the dryer.....I hang them in my basement. (cheap electric bill!) All your input was fantastic; thanks again! ... View related article.

RE: Degenerative Disk Disease Remedies
I also have your disc disease. What works for me is a monthly visit to my chiropractor. It doesn't work for everyone but has been an absolute lifesaver for me. It relieves my pain tremendously. When I get really down, like when I can't walk, I see him either on a daily basis or 3X week & in no time I'm walking. I also put an ice pack on my back for 15 minutes at a time several times a day. I also use a back brace when it's at a very painful stage. All of my suggestions are "natural" ways to go. Dr's never helped me. Take care & good luck. ... View related article.

RE: Corn Silk Loose Powder
Hi, do u have a Walgreen's drug store in NJ? They sell Corn Silk loose powder for just a little over $5.00. Walmart used to have it, but not sure if they still carry it. I always used Corn Silk, especially in the summer, ... View related article.

RE: Removing Hair From My Face
Hi, I've had tons of hair on my face & chin since I was a teenager. I'm in my 50's now & it's no picnic. The best way I've found to remove facial hair is pluck daily the BLACK hairs (I use Tweezerman tweezers & a 5X mirror under a bright light) then use an elec. shaver once or twice a week for the light hairs. I used to use "Nair" but it was very irritating. Good luck. ... View related article.

RE: Dry Elbows
Hi, wash your elbows with baking soda. Put some on the palm of your hand & rub on wet elbow. This will make it smoother in just a few days. Do it every night. This also works on dry heels. Then moisturize. Very cheap & effective treatment! ... View related article.

RE: Homemade Lamp Oil
I would also love to have that recipe as the oil sold all are made with Paraffin, which is not good for our lungs. (Amer. Lung Assoc.). I love oil lamps but do not use because of that. Thanks! ... View related article.

RE: OCD Cleaning Advice
I'm an OCD'r too. I know it's hard but after you've thoroughly cleaned something, try to move on and not worry about it. You've cleaned it the best you could. I'm a freak about germs, dirt not as much, except for bathrooms! My son's friend's dad is a doctor and he said being too clean can be harmful as you can't build up a resistance to germs. He picked up a piece of bread he dropped on the ground and ate it! Don't think I could have done it, though. Take care. ... View related article.
