RE: Choosing the Best Puppy Food
My vet told us to get Hill's Science Diet food. Comes in different configurations. Sold at the Vet's and Petco. Probably Petsmart, too. Buy the Hill's Science Diet, keep the list of nutritional analysis and components, and every time you go dog food shopping, compare what you are contemplating buying against what Hill's offers.

Note: If the pet food makes your dog poop a lot and there is a lot of poop, know that this is not being digested! High quality dog foods will cause smaller waste products because there is less filler. Remember (if you don't know much about nutrition) high protein is better than a lot of carbohydrates.

A few years ago, when many dog food products were recalled, Hill's was not one of them. Our neighbors' dog had become ill, and asked if we were spraying toxic insecticides on the lawn thus causing the dog's problems. Well, we weren't spraying at all and it turned out that their dog food was contaminated and recalled and that's why their dog was so ill. A very real problem. ... View related article.

RE: Sadie (Terrier Mix)
We had a similar attack experience. My daughter was walking her dog, and 2 cats jumped out of the bushes. One ran away and the other attacked him and then ran away. = $ trip to the vet. Lucky for him he has a long snout (he's a pit bull rescue) or he'd have sustained eye damage. I had major concerns about rabies (the dog's shots are up to date but the cat is unknown), but so far he's recovered nicely and took a course of antibiotics at the time for preventative measures. ... RE: What Breed is My Dog?
PS. Now that our Pit is about 3 years old, his chest is even broader and his snout longer and wider. The pic I posted is more of a puppy look. He still thinks he's a person. ... View related article.

RE: What Breed is My Dog?
Those ears look a little like our rescue Pit Bull's ears. Ditto for the long snout, big feet, nose, and long legs. He's very sweet, too. He thinks he's a person. In this picture, he's (we guess) over the age of 2. ... View related article.
