If you take the DLD road south of the Hastings Regional Center, you'll be able to find a row of Osage Orange trees on the south side of the road. Purple finches are much brighter red and a little darker, Finches like to eat black sunflower seeds, white millet and safflower. If you'd like to coax goldfinches, put out some Nyjer Thistle seed.
