I have been working on making our house a home on a shoestring budget. I'm reusing some of the things I already have that I loved from a home that we used to live in. Other items I'm purchasing but finding at thrift stores and consignment places. I have purchased some items new- Like the sofa and loveseat however redecorating on a shoestring budget is definately do-able. It may take some time to find just the right thing however with creativity, websearches you will find what you like. So far I have accomplished our bedroom for $430. (1/2 of which was spent on a new mattress and boxsprings) Our livingroom cost $830 ($780 was new couch and loveseat) My dd's room which was her birthday present cost $671 which most was dealing with organization, paint and refurbishing old furnature into more modern desireable. I have layed out ideas for the whole house so that I have an idea of what I need for future projects. I'm planning on doing the kitchen during football season (dh is a coach) as well as the diningroom. I also have a lot of the things needed to redo our other kids rooms. Now just to get more time. When it is all said and done I should have our house completely redecorated to my tastes with some new furnature for $7,500. Its a huge house and the furnature needed replaced despirately. I would love to come in for $5000 but time will tell. ... View related article.

Take spray adhesive and spray it on the painters canvas and smooth the print on. Then take acrylic paint and paint the edges to match the picture. Then take polyurethane and cover the picture. This makes a cheap print look like one that was purchased for hundreds of dollars at a gallery for a fraction of the cost. ... View related article.
