| RE: How to the Calcium Deposits Around Toilet |
|
I wonder if using Polident or any other brand of denture cleaner would work. I've heard it's a good way to clean the toilet bowl but have never needed to try it myself. You just put a couple tablets in the bowl and let them sit and fizz away the dirt, etc. Cheap and easy to try! ... View related article. |

| RE: Good Chocolate Recipes |

This isn't a recipe but is a tried-and-true tip for softening any type of cookie: place a piece of bread in your sealed container of cookies. The moisture in the bread transfers to the cookies! Yum! (Works to soften brown sugar, too!) ... View related article. |

| RE: Uses for Old Tablecloths |
|
We have "leaf pick-up" by our city in the fall, so we use an old tablecloth to rake the leaves onto (shiny side down to make it slide easily across the ground), then pull it out to the curb for pick-up. We have also used it as a dropcloth. ... View related article. |

| RE: 50th Anniversary Party For The In-Laws |
|
We celebrated my in-laws' 50th last year and took them to a nice restaurant--one of their favorites-- and paid for their meal. We all chipped in for a cake and a scrapbook was made for them. You can get a really nice one at Big Lots right now and all you have to do is slip in the pictures you have. It allows you to place their name on the front cover (with stickers that come with it?). It's VERY pretty and costs either 9.99 or 19.99. The girls got ours from "Joanne Fabrics" or "Michael's" craft store and probably paid 3 times that cost! ... View related article. |

| RE: Sending Flowers Long Distance |

I tried this when my mother-in-law was in the hospital, in that I called a local florist in the town where her hospital was. I charged it to my credit card and when I got the statement from the florist, I saw they still charged me some kind of FTD charge!!! ... View related article. |

| RE: Cleaning Cooking Oil Out Of A Crystal Holder |
|
Polident or Efferdent (for false teeth) tablets work great. And work especially well on narrow necked bottles/vases that you can't stick a brush down inside in order to clean. Just fill the bottle with water and add the tablet and let it sit. It will do all the work! ... View related article. |

| RE: Need Ideas For 6 Year Old Boy's Indoor Birthday Party |
|
A good rule of thumb is to only invite as many children as the age of your child: 6 years of age equals 6 children invited. Or just invite family, if possible, when he's still that young. Does he have any favorite cartoon/TV characters (maybe GI Joe or action heroes)? I always planned my son's parties around these. Makes it easy to find plates, napkins, tablecloth, etc. You could make a cake yourself or have the local bakery at the grocery store do it for you--they have lots of ideas/examples to choose from with your special theme in mind. Add lots of balloons and drape twisted crepe paper streamers from the ceiling to make it look festive. Perhaps your son could even come up with some suggestions for games that he'd like to play. Good luck and have fun! ... View related article. |

| RE: Ink Spot On New Couch |
|
My girlfriend babysits and one of the kids drew on her cloth-covered couch with ink pen. She bought something called "Awesome" all purpose concentrated cleaner for $1.00 at the Family Dollar store (Dollar Tree has it, too). It's a yellow liquid in a clear spray bottle, is 20 oz., and the directions say for ink you should use it "straight" without diluting it. She sprayed it on and it took it completely out! I hope you can find it where you live. Good luck! ... View related article. |
