RE: Craft: Biscuit Quilt
Julia: I would think the biscuits would make cute purses. Just use 9 for the front and either do a coordinating fabric for the other side, or both sides could be biscuits. You might want to line the inside. The handles could be simple straps from one of the fabrics. They also make cute comforters for dolls, or pet beds. Thanks for the nice comments! ... RE: Craft: Biscuit Quilt
Not sure where the rest of the instructions went, but here they are:

After making your "biscuits", whipstitch them together side to side in rows, then joining rows according to how you want the top to look. Once top is complete, pick a coordinating fabric (I chose brown) cutting it larger than the size of the quilt top by the number of inches you want for a border (I did about 4").Lay it under the quilt top, top right side down and pin. Bring sides, top and bottom around to the top of the quilt folding down to make a border turn under a bit, pin then hand sew around. These also make great pillows, doll or pet blankets, as well! ... RE: Polish Peasant Recipes
Here you go tenkill. This is the pierogi recipe I use and I hope you enjoy them!

Dough:
2 c flour
1 tsp salt
salt and pepper
water to form dough

Filling:
2 cups prepared mashed potatoes
1/2 cup cheese, shredded

Mix dough ingredients adding water until dough is manageable, but not sticky. Roll out dough on floured surface about 1/4" or so thick. Cut in circles with biscuit cutter or floured glass. Mix filling ingredients and place a tsp of filling in center of each circle. Fold pierogi in half like a half moon and press edges with a fork to seal. Meanwhile boil a large pot of water. Drop pierogies in water until they rise to the top, then drain. Pan fry in butter until golden, if desired.

Note: you can also saute shredded cabbage with a little onion and a dash of sugar until golden and use that as a filling. Yummy! ... View related article.

RE: Polish Peasant Recipes
OK, I am going to spell it phonetically, since I have never seen it in writing. My grandmother called it halushki. Also, I forgot to mention I serve the sausage and sauce over the pierogies, kind of a cross cultural meal :) I have made pierogies myself, and they are surprisingly easy to make and so good! ...
