Hi! I purchased a product called TSP (Totally Superior Product) All Purpose Cleaner from a website called http://www.soapsgonebuy.com. It can be used to renew clothing by reconditioning them. The product costs $3.75 for a 26 ounce box, plus shipping and handling. You use 1 cup TSP (more if you have hard water) and add no other soap/detergent/fabric softener while you run it through an entire wash cycle. It won't make many suds, but it will release all soap, detergent and dirt trapped in the clothing. I have used this product on many clothing items, as well as my towels and sheets and I've been extremely satisfied with the results. You can also use this product to clean floors, bath tubs, sinks, fiberglass and tile, as well as cleaning painted surfaces prior to painting them. I hope that this tip will help you get your favorite shirt back to it's original texture! Blessings! Cheri in S.C. ... View related article.
If they are big old oak trees, i'd suggest calling a local furniture maker, cabinet maker, or lumber mill. Large old oak trees can be quarter-sawn to produce a grain called 'tiger oak', which is extremely rare and quite expensive. There are very few large old oak trees left which are large enough to be cut this way, in order to produce this wood grain. I would not under any circumstances pay someone to cut these trees. I'd sell them. The furniture that will be made from them will be sold for hundreds, if not thousands, of dollars! Do a Google search for 'Tiger Oak Furniture' and see what the prices are for yourself. I only know this because I own several pieces of this type furniture (I inherited it, I could never afford it). I do know that when the big old oak tree in my front yard goes down, i'm having some furniture made out of it. I hope that this helps you! ... View related article.
Just ask users to place a link to the site in their signature at other sites, especially freebie and frugal living sites. I can't even remeber how I found this site now, but it was from a link I saw somewhere. I got this in an email today and thought it would be helpful to pass it along to others. I hope everyone will be able to follow the tips in here, and most importantly, buy gas only from those who do not import oil from foreign sources. Cheri in S.C.
TIPS ON PUMPING GAS
I don't know what you guys are paying for gasoline.... but here in California we are also paying higher, up to $3.50 per gallon. But my line of work is in petroleum for about 31 years now, so here are some tricks to get more of your money's worth for every gallon..
Here at the Kinder Morgan Pipeline where I work in San Jose, CA we deliver about 4 million gallons in a 24-hour period thru the pipeline. One day is diesel the next day is jet fuel, and gasoline, regular and premium grades. We have 34-storage tanks here with a total capacity of 16,800,000 gallons.
Only buy or fill up your car or truck in the early morning when the ground temperature is still cold. Remember that all service stations have their storage tanks buried below ground. The colder the ground the more dense the gasoline, when it gets warmer gasoline expands, so buying in the afternoon or in the evening....your gallon is not exactly a gallon. In the petroleum business, the specific gravity and the temperature of the gasoline, diesel and jet fuel, ethanol and other petroleum products plays an important role.
A one-degree rise in temperature is a big deal for this business. But the service stations do not have temperature compensation at the pumps.
When you're filling up do not squeeze the trigger of the nozzle to a fast mode. If you look you will see that the trigger has three (3)stages: low, middle, and high. In slow mode you should be pumping on low speed, thereby minimizing the vapors that are created while you are pumping. All hoses at the pump have a vapor return. If you are pumping on the fast rate, some other liquid that goes to your tank becomes vapor. Those vapors are being sucked up and back into the underground storage tank so you're getting less worth for your money.
One of the most important tips is to fill up when your gas tank is HALF FULL or HALF EMPTY. The reason for this is, the more gas you have in your tank the less air occupying its empty space. Gasoline evaporates faster than you can imagine. Gasoline storage tanks have an internal floating roof. This roof serves as zero clearance between the gas and the atmosphere, so it minimizes the evaporation. Unlike service stations, here where I work, every truck that we load is temperature compensated so that every gallon is actually the exact amount.
Another reminder, if there is a gasoline truck pumping into the storage tanks when you stop to buy gas, DO NOT fill up--most likely the gasoline is being stirred up as the gas is being delivered, and you might pick up some of the dirt that normally settles on the bottom. Hope this will help you get the most value for your money.

WHERE TO BUY USA GAS, THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT TO KNOW. READ ON
Gas rationing in the 80's worked even though we grumbled about it. It might even be good for us! The Saudis are boycotting American goods. We should return the favor.
An interesting thought is to boycott THEIR gas.
Every time you fill up the car, you can avoid putting more money into the coffers of Saudi Arabia. Just buy from gas companies that don't import their oil from the Saudis.
Nothing is more frustrating than the feeling that every time I fill-up the tank, I am sending my money to people who are trying to kill me, my family, and my friends.
I thought it might be interesting for you to know which oil companies are the best to buy gas from and which major companies import Middle Eastern oil.
Citgo gas is from South America, from a dictator who hates Americans. If you do the math at $30/barrel, these imports amount to over $18 BILLION! (oil is now $90 - $100 a barrel (105.00 today 3/06/08 - AMS)
Here are some large companies that do not import Middle Eastern oil:
Sunoco..................0 barrels
Conoco................. .0 barrels
Sinclair ..................0 barrels
BP/Phillips.............0 barrels
Hess......................0 barrels
ARC0.....................0 barrels
If you go to Sunoco.com <http://sunoco.com/> , you will get a list of the station locations near you.
All of this information is available from the Department of Energy and each is required to state where they get their oil and how much they are importing.
But to have an impact, we need to reach literally millions of gas buyers. It's really simple to do.
Now, don't wimp out at this point.... keep reading and I'll explain how simple it is to reach millions of people!!
I'm sending this note to about thirty people. If each of you send it to at least ten more (30 x 10 = 300)...and those 300 send it to at least ten more (300 x 10 = 3,000) and so on, by the time the message reaches the sixth generation of people, we will have reached over THREE MILLION consumers !!!!!!! If those three million get excited and pass this on to ten friends each, then 30 million people will have been contacted!
If it goes one level further, you guessed it ..... THREE HUNDRED MILLION PEOPLE!!!
Again, all you have to do is send this to 10 people. How long would all that take?
We had a very frugal wedding also. We had lived together for about 3 years, so we didn't really need anything either. When guests asked me what i'd really like to have, I had a list of practical items we REALLY did need - new towels, washcloths, linens, etc. In total, We spent less than $600.00 on the whole wedding. We got married in the front yard under the shade of a huge old oak tree. Guests were invited to 'just come as you are'. I was the only one who really dressed up for the event. My husband and stepchildren wore matching jeans and white shirts, and my stepdaughter wore a dress i'd bought for her at GoodWill. Instead of having a florist, we landscaped the yard - it lasted longer and was much less expensive. My bouquet was picked from my parents yard. My mom had taken a course in cake-baking, so she made the cake. It was a very laid back, relaxed affair, and everyone enjoyed themselves. Personally, since you're hoping for an outdoor wedding, I would pick games for both inside and outside, so you have something to do if it's raining. Don't worry about the money - some people won't have the time to shop for a gift, and they'll give you cash. I hope this helps somehow! Hoping that you have a beautiful wedding! ... Hi! Have you checked http://www.majorgeeks.com ? They have tons of freeware and shareware for all operating systems. The bonus with using shareware is that you can actually install and use the product before you make the decision to buy it.
And who knows? You may find something free there that works great and won't cost you anything!
I guess I'm one of the few who never left the old ways. When I grew up and got married, I moved all the way across the street from my parents and my Nanny, who left us almost 3 years ago. I still miss her so... Anyway, I still live on the family farm, in what used to be a rental house. If we want eggs, we go get them out from underneath a chicken. If we want pork or beef, we take an animal to the slaughterhouse, and then to a local meat-cutter. (Thank goodness Daddy decided he was too old to slaughter hogs and make sausage - I truly have no good memories of that...) If we want vegetables, we go to the freezers or to the 'canned goods' aisles in the basements. In season, we go outside and pick them fresh. We're pretty self-sufficient. Nanny bought this farm in the early 1940's, and immediately started planting fruit and nut trees, plus grapes, muscadines, and scuffadines. I am the designated wine-maker now, because Mama won't make anything alcoholic. I even started growing my own coffee a few years back. I have 12 coffee trees (Kona and Arabica) and I harvest about 20 pounds per tree per year. I still cook like Nanny taught me how to when I was a child. My husband loves it, although he eats far too much meat. I'm becoming more and more of a vegetarian as I grow older. I never left the farm, Nanny's ways or Mamma's. I'm glad I stayed here. My daughter is almost nine now and she's growing up in a way of life that most people have long forgotten or never knew. She'd rather feed the livestock and gather the eggs than watch TV or play videogames. I'm grateful that she will grow up being one with the land, learning how to live off of it, and knowing that she has all that she needs to sustain her here. I may not have gone far, but then again, there wasn't any reason for me to leave. This is paradise! ... View related article.
Hi! If you want to boost this recipe a bit, add a box of BIZ to it. That stuff gets everything out! I 'discovered' it when my stepson's both played football and the coach insisted he had NEVER coached a losing team that wore white pants. All the mother's could have cheerfully killed him. Of course, the team did have a losing season, but after asking how everyone else was getting those nasty pants so sparkly white, I have become the queen of laundry! ... View related article.
