RE: What Do You Think of Facebook?
I have a facebook account, and enjoy it very much. It is a great way to connect with people that you have lost touch with, and to stay in touch with people that you are in frequent contact with. You can set your profile to where only the ones that you choose can see your information, and you don't have to play all of the games if you don't want to. You can block applications that people send to you if you are not interested.

I, personally just like being able to see at a glance what my friends, family, and co-workers have been up to lately; as to whether they need prayer, or congratulations, or encouragement. It's also great to be able to post something myself if I need prayer or encouragement, and very encouraging when my friends post on my wall to give encouragement or congratulations. It's great to look up one of your friends and see what their grandchildren look like, and see the pictures of their pets, and loved ones; also to have my pictures posted online so that when I make a connection with a former church-member, I can direct them to my pictures so they can see how much Junior has grown, and who would have believed that Fluffy the cat is still catching mice, or whatever.

The language is cleaner to me on facebook, as opposed to myspace, (of course, it might depend on the friends that you choose, LOL). More people my age are on facebook, as opposed to myspace; it's not just for teens and young adults anymore. I think it's wonderful that folks my age have a place to go to be social; I am kind of a loner, and can be a part of interreacting with people as much or as little as I'd like.

Facebook has made it harder for total strangers to be able to look you up; you type in the name that you want to be "found" under, and someone who is not familiar with you would not be able to find your profile. And if they WERE able to find your profile, there is very little information displayed, they are instructed to send a friend request for more information, and you are free to decide who to friend or not.

I have had a lot of my friends post something like, " So and so has asked to be my friend, does anyone know who this person is, and why they want to be my friend?" Also, if there is something that you don't understand on facebook, all you have to do is post something on your profile and ask someone to explain, and everything is usually cleared up.
Facebook has been a blessing to my life, and I'm glad that I joined. ... View related article.

RE: Building a Pet Gate
I'd get a plastic lattice panel at your local home-improvement store, cut it into panels, and edge each panel with thin wood of some kind, fasten panels together with hinges, and make more than you think that you will need so that you can zig-zag it and make it free-standing. Good luck. ... View related article.

RE: Buying Wooden Privacy Fence Panels
You can place an ad on Craigslist in your area, under "wanted". Sometimes people have leftovers from a project that they have completed, and would like to get some of their money back for items not used. Good luck. ... View related article.

RE: Squash Vine Borers
When I planted my squash this year, I placed 1/2 of a tube from a roll of toilet paper over the plants before they got too large to do so. (It's supposed to cover the stem of the plant, making it impossible for the vine borer to climb the stem.) It worked pretty good, for the first time in several years, I had nary a squash vine borer get my plants. Good luck. ... View related article.

RE: Natural Mosquito Repellent
I've used just about every home remedy suggested, and have not found one of them that work. (Avon Skin-So-Soft, Bounce dryer sheets, olive oil, vanilla extract, Vics VapoRub, amber Listerine, and a host of others that I can't remember at this time. They work for others, but not for me for some reason; I don't know if it's because of my blood type, or any other reason. The only thing that I have found to work for me is Deep-Woods Off!, which I don't like to use because if I use it more than once or twice, I break out in hives; and a product made by Avon, a combination of sunscreen and mosquito repellent all in one.

One of the home remedies mentioned might work for you, just give them a try one by one, and see what happens. What works for some, doesn't necessarily work for others for some reason. Good luck to you. ... View related article.

RE: Goo Gone Smell On Clothing
My suggestion would be to let it air out in full sun until the smell is gone; shouldn't take too long. Just check often for color-fastness and smell. I've used this method many times, and it works pretty good. Good luck. ... View related article.
