I've recieved this pineapple plant as a gift one year ago. I've surfing and search through the internet to find out what kind of plant is it? but till now i still don't get it. this pineapple growing a new plant through it's every eyes and on the top side also growing a small pineapple. I've shown this picture to all my friends but none of them know about this plant. maybe you can help me now ? thanks

This plant grows very well in my front yard. I received it from my parents. They didn't know the name of the plant. They did know that this plant was useful for curing some diseases, it acts as an antibiotic. The leaves can be eaten and the fruit tastes very sour.
