I dont have a white cooktop... but I have a black one.. and I LOVE IT!!! If I spril (which I almost always do) or boil a pot over, it is a snap to wipe up. My parents were concerned that one of my kids would stick their hand up and burn themselves because it is flat?? We have now had it for 2 years and none of us have ever burnt ourselves on it. It is rather scratched now but I would buy it again! It has made clean up much easier... and cooking safer. Once when I had the coils on the electric cooktop, I accidently boiled over some oil when I put too many french fries in the pot... I had a HUGE grease fire that I had to evacuate my kids from the house (was able to get the fire out by myself). Just the other night I did the same thing again but this time with my flat cooktop and was able to quickly put come dish rags around the pot and soak up the spilled oil.. no fire this time! hahah... Anyways, I love the flat cooktop! I surely would not have a white if I could avoid it though! ... View related article.
I dont have a suggestion for the diaper cake idea... but I do have a suggestion for a diaper WREATH. My girlfriend gave me one when my last baby was born and I loved it so much I made one for my Sister in law who is expecting his first little girl (after 4 boys) any day now. You will need a wire wreath form ... open the diapers slightly and sandwich it around the wire wreath form. Use a tiny hair rubber band to scrunch the diaper up a little and help it stay on the wreath. Go all the way around the whole wreath. Then use curling ribbon to cover the rubber band and also add additional support to keep the diaper on the wreath. Then use some curling ribbon to attach "baby items" around the wreath. I used diaper rash ointment, pacifiers, a bottle, a bottle of baby oil and baby lotion, a brush/comb set, etc. The fun part is to find diapers that might match the color scheme.. for instance, I found that The Walmart brand White Cloud has purple diapers... these are what I used to make the wreath for my sister in law. But Pampers Swaddlers are yellow and Pampers Baby Dry are green, Huggies have blueish colored diapers. Anyways, you can use a different brand to make a more "girly" or "boyish" wreath or one that is more unisex. Wish I had taken a picture of the wreath before I gave it to my sister in law. I have another girlfriend who is expecting in later spring/early summer and I will surely make her one. I will have to remember to take a picture to post here! ... View related article.
I had the "A line" hair style for a while and LOVED it... that's where the back is cut really short and kind of tapered from the crown down and the front is left a little longer. If I needed to, I could still pull the front up to get it out of my face, or pull that hair over my ears. I have six kids, so I dont always get a shower every day and simply dont have time to curl/style my hair every day. Anyways, my hair has now grown out of the style and I really need to get back to the salon! :)
