RE: Gift Ideas for a 13 Year Old Girl
My granddaughter will be 14 in December. For her birthday I got her a gift card to Payless shoes. For Christmas, she is getting two cards, one for Claire's, and one for her Ipod to put music on it. I don't understand how that one works but she knows, that's what counts. ... View related article.

RE: Reusing Toilet Paper Rolls
I like them to wrap small gifts in a Christmas, make it look like a party favor with the ends twisted. Also could wrap a few with nothing inside and use yarn or string to hang them on the Christmas tree. Can wrap with Christmas paper or foil. ... View related article.

RE: Thanksgiving Recipe Ideas
A few years ago I started serving the small ears of corn you find in the freezer section. Can put them on to heat/cook at almost the last minute so they will be hot when served. I figured they had corn (maize) at the first Thanksgiving and it probably was 'on the cob' not cut off the cob. My family thought I was a bit weird but they came around to my thinking. ... RE: Birthday Gift Ideas for Boyfriend
You don't state your ages, that could help us. I will just suggest one I have used on my kids on their 21st birthdays. I got 21 pennies, nickels, dimes, quarters, and half dollars. Then I got a box big enough to tape the coins one at a time to bottom, sides, and top of box. To use the money, the receiver has to untape each coin. My kids thought it was a blast. He might to. ... RE: 3 Ingredient Peanut Butter Cookies
The recipe I have says to add 1 tsp vanilla also. Emeril makes them with chocolate chips. I have made them with regular splenda. They weren't as good as with sugar but were edible. ... View related article.

RE: Creative Ideas for Giving Money
On my kids 21st birthdays, I got 21 each pennies, nickels, dimes, quarters, and half dollars. I taped each one seperately in a box - on the bottom, top, and sides. On my brothers 50th wedding anniversary, I got 50 silver dollars, used a gold gift bag, gold 'easter' grass, and gold foil. I cut the foil into squares so I could wrap and tape shut each coin individually in the foil. I put a little grass in bag, dropped in a few coins, more grass, more coins, till done. They had to find the coins, then unwrap them to use them. The kids had to untape the coins to use them. I believe it added up to less than $20. You could adapt either of these ideas to your needs. ... View related article.

RE: Medication for Oedema Not Working
I was taking a diuretic too that wasn't working. On one visit I had to see a different doctor. He immediately said I did not need a diuretic, that the problem with my swollen feet and legs was not from fluids, but a circulation problem called lymhedema. The blood could get to the feet but not get out. Treatment is entirely different. You might want a second opinion. ... View related article.

RE: Removing Cigarette Smoke Odors
Sorry I can't help you with getting the odor out, but I have a couple suggestions on how to prevent it getting in. When smoking, light a candle nearby. The flame draws the smoke to it, then makes it 'disappear'. Or, when smoking set out a dish or cup of vinegar, smoke also goes to it. Once you notice the vinegar dark on the top, it is time to change the vinegar. How long this takes depends on how much smoking is being done. ... View related article.
