Profile For Grandma H -
I am married and I am a Mother to six and grandma to ten. We retired to Spain eighteen years ago and live in a small fishing village on the Costa Blanca. My hobbies are craftwork of all kinds, machine knitting, and cooking (nothing too fancy). Recently I have acquired a computer and I am slowly beginning to learn how to use it.

RE: Using Green Cherry Tomatoes
I have had this problem in the past and found that if you put them in an open container (a plastic bowl will do) and leave them near a window they will gradually ripen. You will need to check them over frequently and remove any bad ones. I passed this tip on to my daughter who had to pick all of her green tomatos because her dog was using them to play ball! ... RE: Substitute Almond Flour In Baking
HI, I use almond flour or ground almonds not only for baking but also for thickening sauces and gravy. I am on a low Gl diet and this is one way to keep the carbs low, also I live in Spain in an area that cultivates almonds so they are readily available. Usually I buy my almonds with the skins on as these are more healthy, but it is easy to blanch them if this is preferred. ... View related article.

The tea towel was then copied and printed and these were sold for school funds. Grandaughter is now 22 years old and I still have one of the tea towels,it is one of my treasures. ... RE: Recipes Using Fennel
Hi Christine.I love fennel and it's aniseed flavour, sometimes I use it raw in salads, just slice it and add to a mixed salad. It is very nice with sliced ham(the Spanish ham Serrano is best) but I am biased because I live in Spain. As a side dish I slice it and braise it in chicken stock. Hope this will get you started. ... View related article.
