RE: Inexpensive Gifts for Friends
I have to make Christmas gift for our fiber arties group and have found the information on this web site very helpful.
The tatted spider found http://www.geocities.com/birgit_ph/spider.html is just prefect for the watercolor card I have made for Spider ornaments.

Here is the story in the card

One Christmas Eve long ago, a family was preparing their home for the visit of the Christ child.

After the Christmas tree had been beautifully trimmed, and everything was scrubbed and cleaned, the family went to bed.

While they were sleeping, little spiders who had been chased from their favorite nooks and crannies, crept back to wonder at the tree's glittering beauty.
They crawled on every branch to see each shining ornament, but alas, in their excitement, they forgot to stop spinning their webs.

After their inspection, the tree was shrouded with cobwebs!

When the Christ child came and saw what had happened, He smiled at the thought of the little spiders wanting to see His tree.
As He blessed the tree, He touched each web to turn it into gold, and the tree shone with greater beauty than before.
That is why in many parts of the world each Christmas tree, to be complete, must have one golden spider.

RE: Hand Sanitizer - For Home or Office
I use a mixture - 1 part rubbing alcohol to 3 parts distilled water.. Put it in a spray bottle. Squirt and wipe everything in site .

It gives stainless steel a real shine.
I also use it to clean windows. My grandmother used to add a teaspoon of ammonia to the mixture when she washed windows, but I dont..

RE: Easter Ideas For Teens
When my girls were teenagers I colored blown out eggs, and rolled up little paper notes with clues and put one in each egg.
They could break one egg every 10 or 15 minutes. The clue inside each egg told them where to find a surprise. (nail polish, lip gloss, nylons, note pads, blush, dusting powder, bubble bath, etc.)

The fun wasn't the gift, but the hunt.

Some of the clues I used were:
I'm on top of the salt.-----(in the water softener)
Behind a reflection-----(behind a wall mirror)
I whirl things dry----(in the dryer)
Under your undies ---(in the underwear drawer)
I give you light---(taped inside a lamp or lamp shade)
Under a runner ---(under a rug)

Sometimes deciphering the clues took longer than finding the surprise.
My girls loved this tradition, and still talk about it 20 years later.

Remember to wash the eggs well after blowing. You don't want any gunk on the notes.

ps. add more cute clues, I would like to read them. LOL ... View related article.

RE: Removing Candle Wax From Stove Top
I do Ukrainian Egg Art. (You put wax on an egg. - them dye it) I use lighter fluid to take the wax off the finished eggs. It works like a charm.

I have also taken crayon marks off walls and my computer using lighter fluid. It does not harm the paint on the walls or the plastic casing of the computer.

Put a little lighter fluid on a paper towel and wipe off the wax.

I WOULD BE CAREFUL USING LIGHTER FLUID NEXT TO AN OPEN FLAME. (Turn off pilot light)
