RE: Pierogie Recipes
Perogies are a great way to make a shortcut lasagna! Use the potato/cheese stuffed ones -layer (takes the place of the noodle & cheese) and bake as you would for any lasagna. Works great and is sooo yummy ... View related article.

RE: Recipe for Fluffy Cake Filling
I love this oh so tasty but soooo simple fluffy mixture for both filling and frosting! I have never made it without being asked for the "recipe"!

Simply mix 1 instant pudding mix and 1 dry whipped topping mix (Dream Whip here in Canada)with 1-1/2 cups cold milk. Beat on high as if making whipped topping -(I use the whisk beater). When it is nice and fluffy, spread as filling or frosting. This can be changed by simply varying the flavour of the instant pudding! Yum ... View related article.

RE: Looking for Answers for Dealing with Dog's Fleas
The best advice I got when I had this problem once was "spray - vacuum, spray - vacuum" until the pests are gone. Fleas can remain in a sort of dormant state for a long time so you have to be faithful with the 'spray one day, vacuum the next' routine and throw out the vacuum bags each time. I bought a house and yard pest control spray from our local farm store (Canadian) that was safe around animals and it did the trick in under 2 weeks. Have never had any again but I have always treated my 2 cats with Advantage. Kids brought in a stray that was "Covered" and had it in their room before I saw it! YUK ... View related article.

RE: Cut and Place Wilted Celery in Cold Water
I have no idea where this came from, but I always cut a piece of potatoe and place in the bottom of a tall container of water, then stand wilted celery in it in the fridge. In very short order, crisp and crunchy celery!! ... View related article.

RE: Cigarette Smoke Stains on Clothing
If your items are originally all white, a great way to restore their brilliance is with a solution of 1/4 cup liquid bleach, 1/4 cup liquid automatic dishwasher detergent and at least a gallon of hot water. Just mix the solution and add the items, soak for a short time then wash as usual. Takes stains out of baby shirts etc. like magic!! Great for hubby's white work shirts and kids socks as well!

RE: Neck Pillow Filler Ideas
Plain Pot Barley - you can get it at any bulk store. Cheap and doesn't hurt it when overheated. Holds the heat longer than rice as well! Adding lavender or other scents works great as long as they aren't over heated. ... View related article.

RE: Dealing With Credit Card Debt
First of all, I use only cards that offer rewards. As soon as I make a purchase, I also make a payment, usually the full amount of what I have just bought. This way, the cards are making money for me, not the credit card company. If it is a store card, you can usually pay at the checkout at the same time, - other cards, I use online pay method. If it is a large purchase, I pay as much and as often as I can to avoid interest. ... View related article.

RE: Keeping Field Mice Out of a Vacant House
Not sure why it works but place BOUNCE (must be Bounce brand) dryer sheets around the perimeter of your house, - inside - and no more mice. My fiend was plaqued by mice at her cottage every year while it was closed until she discovered this trick. We also live in an 100 year old country house so mice used to be a problem for me as well until I started putting Bounce sheets anywhere I saw signs of mice. I just replace about every 4 months and have not had a mouse since ! Good Luck.
