RE: Parvo Help Needed
My leo passed away Sunday morning. I think he was already weak from the Kennel. We tried just about everything. I'll buy another dog again someday just not from this Humane Society. At least he is now without pain, not throwing up and no vomitting. ... View related article.

RE: Euthanizing Puppies With Parvo
It is not cruel. I've had a terrible week. My first dog had a serious eye infection and snapped at everyone (we had him for 3 weeks). We took him back to the Humane society and they put him down.

Now today my 4 month old puppy has parvo but we are fighting this one with home treatment with items provided by the vet. In this case the vet said we caught it early.

To make it worse I have a 15 year and a 4 year old children at home. The oldest already lost a dog 4 years ago due to cancer. I tell you it is a hard thing to enthanize a dog who is part of your family. I'll never forget the last look of the two labs I lost. I'm just praying now it is not 3, at least not for a long time. ... View related article.

RE: Dog Getting Parvo Shot After Having Parvo
Definitely get the shot. My vet said today if my dog gets better come back for the shot within 2 weeks. Right now I'm praying that my little buddy will go back for that shot. ... View related article.

RE: Parvo Help Needed
I picked up our 4 month old lab/australian sheppard mix from the local Humane Society on Tuesday night. It was confirmed today (Friday) that he has parvo but we caught it early. We are doing the home care. I'm just praying that it works. They gave him an IV bag that we give him twice a day, antibiotics and anti nausea medicine. I could have taken him back to the Humane Society but they would have just put him down.

I couldn't do that to him at least without fighting. We had to take back our 11 month old lab/pointer mix after having him for 3 weeks. He had a serious eye problem, after heavy kennel cough and was snappy at everyone outside of our family.

I'm not too crazy about this humane society. I called them today about our puppy and they were very rude. I won't mention them by name and I don't live near Philly (as in my ID) but I really hope they turn things around there. They even have you sign a notice saying they are having a problem with parvo. Of course I didn't know what it was. ... View related article.
