RE: Care Credit For Expensive Vet Bills
Do you have a PetCo store in your area? You should give them a call as the PetCo's here do clinics on Saturdays for shots. If they don't do it, they may know of a clinic in your area. ... View related article.

RE: Repairing Carpet
I have not tried this but read about it and it seems like it would work. You 'brush' your carpet to get the pile from it. Then you use a glue to put on the lines and fill them with the pile. Might be worth a try?? Diane ... View related article.

RE: Old Medicine Bottles
I don't know that you can earn a lot of money with pill bottles they do however, have uses. We run a bird rescue and toys are very expensive. I sometimes use the bottles as foot toys for the smaller guys. I put plastic 'pony' beads inside so it makes a rattle noise. They LOVE it. Diane ... View related article.

RE: Fleas and Hardwood Floors
Sounds like the people before you had pets. Is the house rented? If so, contact the landlord. It is his responsibility to get an exterminator or bomb. If you own the house, I would recommend bombing. You can buy the bombs just about anywhere. Remember to do all levels including the basement. Remove any houseplants and follow directions.
Good luck, Diane ... View related article.

RE: Fixing a Scratched Wall
A trick used to hide holes from wall hangings is to fill with white toothpaste. you could 'sculpt' it before it dries and then add color once it's hard. The trick would be in matching the color. You might want to ask your landlord what color the paint is. You can tell him you like it or something. Or, even ask if he had a little of it left for a small project you're working on. That would not be untrue. Good luck.

RE: White Blouse Now Dingy Gray
A trick nurses and doctors use to keep their whites white is to wash in Lestoil. It brings the uniforms back to bright white. You will have to wash a second time to get the smell out but it should work fine. I also use it on my husbands work clothes about once a month or so as the machine oil doesn't wash out well enough.

RE: Maggie (Golden Retriever Mix)
Isn't it amazing how one mans trash IS another mans TREASURE??? We run a rescue for exotic birds and there are so many wonderful pets out there that are just waiting to 'love' someone. Maggie is beautiful! Thank you and others like you that realize how wonderful these special animals are. We have adopted a little mix breed dog who sleeps in bed with us. ha ha So hard not to spoil them isn't it?

RE: My Parakeet Is Gagging Herself
Parakeets do NOT need grit. Pet stores will sell it to you but it can actually cause health problems. We have 160 birds here at the rescue and only TWO of them are given grit (gravel). They are doves and should have it. Diane Lazicki's Bird House & Rescue, Inc. ... View related article.

RE: Cocoa Butter for Eczema
I have had eczema for 42 years. I think I've had every treatment under the sun including perscription creams, soaks and even ultra violet rays. My excema was confined to my hands which was a nightmare. Even to pick up a cup, my hands would crack and bleed. The only thing that worked was steroids which couldn't be taken often. In desperation, I tried a cream that I found on the internet. It was offered for free with just the cost of shipping (samples). Cocoa butter never worked for me either. This cream is called yu-be and has been used in Japan for multiple things. It worked so well, that I am now a distributor. here is the link, you can search the site for a retailer near you. www.yu-be.com If you can't find someone, you can contact me at grammiecracker AT aol.com I think you can get the trial sizes on the site. Good luck, Daine ... View related article.

RE: Cleaning Levelor Blinds
When I had blinds, my husband designed a 'cleaning tube' for me... He took a length of PVC pipe and glued an end cap on one end and we did a screw cap on the end we needed to open.
Simply close your blind (not tight) and put it in the tube. add your cleaner, vinegar with a little dish detergent works well. All you have to do is put the tube on the floor and roll it... Or, you can roll it by hand or even shake. I liked to roll it with my feet while I took breaks and watched TV. When it's done, empty in the tub, sink or yard and rinse. Rinsing is easy if you leave it closed. Stand it on end in your tub until the excess stops running off and they won't drip and hang back in your window to completely dry. Cleaning my blinds was when I got to take breaks. It turned out to be one of my easiest housecleaning tasks... Diane ... View related article.
