RE: Shaving a Dog
Be careful not to go too short and never clip against the way the hair grows, always with. As the others said, depending on the breed you may burn up your clippers. ... View related article.

RE: Dog is Hiding and Won't Eat
I'm gonna say pain, bring the dog to the vet as soon as you can. When my mini schnauzer had a very painful surgery a few years ago, she did this not long after I had gotten her home. I called my vet and he said that that is the way they behave when they are in pain (he had given her pain meds before she left the office but it must have worn off). I ushered her back to the vet and he gave her another shot of meds. After this, I kept her on a strict pain med schedule for the first few days so the pain would not return and she never hid again.

If this is not normal for your dog, don't assume it's hearing loss, or needing alone time or anything else. Go to a vet. ... View related article.

RE: Keeping Mold from Growing on House Siding
The north side of any structure whether out in the forest or at home gets the mold, mildew and moss. The north side of anything gets the least amount of sunlight. I don't think you can prevent this as it's the sun that kills and prevents it from growing in the first place. Noella is right, that mold and mildew tells you where north is. ... RE: Lemon Tree Not Blooming or Producing Lemons
I have a Ponderosa lemon tree which is about 5 years old, produces so many lemons the size of grapefruit! It is not from seed though, and I had an oldtimer at a nursery tell me that commercial citrus trees are grafted onto a tried and true type of, in my case, lemon. So the base may be one type of lemon, a type that is hardy and freeze resistant, pest resistant, whatever. The top is the fruit I bought. If I take a seed from my Ponderosa lemon, it will not have the good stock of the base tree. ... View related article.

RE: Dog is Acting Strange Since Taking Rimadyl
My vet took my dog off it. If you look it up, there are deaths associated with this drug as well as other symptoms. Pfizer, the maker, didn't want to say that death could be caused so FDA pulled their ads. It does say it on the box now, but from what my vet said, it's a dangerous drug. ... View related article.

RE: Is My Son a Vegetarian?
I'm a texture person too. My plate looks like a kid has been through it every time (I'm in my 30's); I pick through everything. Plainly put, vegetarians eat VEGETABLES/FRUITS/GRAINS. Or put in another way, THINGS WITH NO EYES (except for potatoes hahaha). He just likes what he likes or he's picky or whatever. I don't think giving this a label is what is needed. ...
