RE: Using an Old Can of Baked Beans
As long as the can is in good condition (no dents or punctures), canned food will last indefinitely. ... View related article.

RE: Puppy Wants to Sleep in Our Bed
She needs to be crated -- away from your bedroom -- during the night, with a nice warm blanket and maybe a soft radio station or even the television to keep her company. In time, the radio or TV can be eliminated, as she grows up and becomes more comfortable. If you succumb to her whining, you will have a little tyrant on your hands (not to mention a ruined mattress!) You need to show her she is safe and cared for but not the boss of the house. Good luck with that! ... View related article.

RE: Will My Child Receive SSI?
My children received SSD benefits when their father became disabled and after he died, up to the age of 18. There is NOT a provision for SSD benefits after age 18, even if they go to college. Benefits terminate at the age of 18 OR at the end of their post-secondary education (which is high school, NOT college). ... View related article.

RE: What Breed is My Dog?
Sophia looks very much like a schnauzer. Is she still a puppy or is she full-grown? Perhaps some Yorkshire Terrier too?

I just had my mixed breed dog DNA-tested and while we knew she had shepherd and labrador ancestry, we were shocked to learn she had an equal amount of Great Pyrenees Mountain Dog as well (she exhibits no physical traits of this breed).

The DNA test is called "Wisdom Panel" and can be googled as "Mars Veterinary". ... View related article.

RE: Watch the Cash Register Screen When Checking Out
And at ShopRite grocery stores (and probably others), if the wrong price rings up on the register, you get that item for FREE! I once received a $17 package of diapers for free because the price rang up incorrectly! ... View related article.

RE: Chihuahua Puppy Nips
WATCH "THE DOG WHISPERER" on the National Geographic Channel (if you have it) or try to rent it from the video store. Cesar Milan's method absolutely works! His basic philosophy is to convey your dominance over the dog in a healthy, calm, assertive manner. For instance, he's featured many chihuahuas on his program and almost all of them have the same problem as yours, because people tend to treat the dogs as toys or 'people', rather than a DOG. Cesar will make a "claw" out of his fingers, touch the dog quickly and firmly on the neck/shoulder area and firmly hold the dog prone until the dog relaxes and submits to his dominant position.

I cannot recommend this method enough -- I have used it to train several dogs (much larger than a precious bitty chihuahua!) and the dogs (and their humans) are happy and well adjusted. Good luck to you! ... View related article.

RE: Use Rice To Clean Vases
I use the same method to clean my hummingbird feeders, especially since you can't use any type of cleaner which could leave a residue that might sicken the birds. ... View related article.
