RE: Food Savings While Visiting Disney World
In Disney, the cheapest way to eat for mine was to find the vendor selling the BBQ turkey drumsticks! My kids love them! And it was the cheapest for us. But if you can, take a cooler for your vehicle for later in the day. You will be amazed how much just simple drinks cost. So pack it with your own drinks and ice and each day after leaving the park if no one wants a big meal, just go thru a drive thru and get the .99 cent hamburgers and french fries, go find a park or even back to the motel and have a picnic. We learned the hard way that a meal for 4 every evening was costing us over $50 at the restaurants close to the park. And kids didn't have eat it... no place to take the leftovers... a big waste. But even Subway or anything similar is cheaper then name brand restaurants. It won't hurt kids and you to live on half-junk food for a few days... mine think thats one of the best parts of the trip.
But always remember its cheaper away from the main attractions, so take a few back roads and see if you can find small diners , etc.
But as for eating inside Disney, try to limit it to just one meal (lunch) to keep the costs down. I can't remember the names or I would tell you the best ones. Maybe someone out there thats been recently will know~
Have fun! and start stocking up now on granola type bars for the drive there for snacks! ... View related article.

RE: Buying a Small Surge Protector
http://www.smarthomeusa.com/ShopByM ... /Bits-Ltd./Item/SCG4/specifications/

On the link above is one, but I could not find the exact width and length.
I know there use to be a small plug in type that was square and you could get them such places like Ace hardware, but I have not seen one in a while. But they only offered minimal surge protection also. I had one just for a tv in the kitchen because when certain other appliances would come on, it would cause it to dim, shrink in picture, etc. and the small plug in protector worked for me. But read the fine print and make sure it will do the job for what you need.

Here is another page link (amazon) with several to give ya an idea to see if this is kinda what yo are looking for.
Look toward bottom of page for the list.

RE: Adding Padding to Antique Chairs
Are the seats removable?
If so, it will be a cinch!
Make sure you take the padding around the edges to soften it. And just work the fabric a little at a time so there is no wrinkles and staple underneath. Try looking on the Martha Stewart site. I seen on there one time , with pictures, how she did some. Or even the HGTV site might have something with details.
Good luck! But remember, have fun and think of how happy this will make your friend!! ... View related article.

RE: Nontoxic Canal Cleaner
Is it an active canal? Such as with fish, etc.? Or is this the concrete dry ones they use for overflows?

I have heard of a cleaner that has something in it to prevent mildew/scum from coming back so often and then when it is cleaned it washes off very easily. I will see if i can find the name. ... View related article.

RE: Clever Ad for a Rummage Sale
I like the 'husband' one!
Too funny!

Offer free drinks, just put ice and soda in cups on a table so they can grab it as they leave. I have seen this before and I admit I have stopped while yardsaling mostly for the drink but would browse and find it was a great yardsale!

I can't think of no clever ads right now... sorry. ... View related article.

RE: Something for Guests to Throw at Our Wedding
I like Ree's idea with the confetti. You could get the crinkled confetti and that would be cute. It would float on the breeze, its safe because its paper and is not gonna hurt a bird, and comes in colors.

Have you seen the confetti soap? It comes in shapes such as hearts, but its paper thin and disolves real fast. That also would be cute and since it disolves there would be little chance of it harming a bird. And its cheap. ... View related article.

RE: Removing Candle Wax From My Cat's Fur
Does he/she like to lay in the sun??? If you can catch him while doing this, the wax will be softer and alot easier to remove. Or even if you have too, leave the cat in the bathroom while you take a hot shower. The heat will soften it up and it may slide off.
Nosy cats, huh?? lol~ ... View related article.

RE: Mini-Muffin Paper Cups
Hey Poco... check out this site. I have bought from here last year .

They have the dimensions to help you find the right size .
If you are looking for a store that carries such, try Micheals craft store and Bed Bath and Beyond. I have bought stuff there for baking before that i had not found elsewhere, such as the odd size pan liners. ... View related article.

RE: Growing Collards
Hey Holly,
Just make sure you don't let them go to 'seed'.
It will make a flowering stem right out of the center and this will signal the plant to try to die. Just cut it back. It will also change the flavor of the collards ...not as good . I've had plants come back for several years in the garden even after being plowed under, they would grow sideways, crooked... lol... So keep it trimmed and you should keep getting leaves off of it for many years, at least. Hopefully more. And a frost makes them taste better, but be careful of a deep freeze. It may kill it. Just cover it like you would your other plants.
