RE: Store Detergent in Name Brand Box
I'm with ALL of you. First off, there's no replacement for Dawn. Just about everything else is replaceable. My husband swears by Folgers coffee. I've been buying Maxwell House which is sometimes $2.00 cheaper plus with a $1.00 coupon works great. He doesn't know the difference. One of these days I'll tell. I buy most everything generic or store brand now. ... View related article.

RE: Deep Fried Burger Recipe
I found this on food.yahoo.com How-To: Deep-Fried Cheese-Stuffed Cheeseburgers
Equipment

Deep-fryer (or a stockpot with boil basket )
Deep-fry or candy thermometer (preferably one that clips on to side of pot)
Meat thermometer
Ingredients

1 lb. hamburger
1 to 2 sticks mozzarella string cheese, cut into small pieces
Packaged beer-batter mix
A neutral-flavored oil, for frying (safflower oil, peanut oil, or vegetable shortening work well)
Your favorite hamburger bun
The cheese of your choice
The condiments of your choice
Procedure

1. Form two equal-size patties, making an indentation in the center of one to hold the cheese. Place the cheese in the indentation of the bottom patty, cover with the top patty, and crimp the edges tightly to seal. Make sure seal is tight so cheese does not leak out.

2. Place oil in your deep-fryer, and allow it to come to frying temperature. If you don't have a deep-fryer, use a stockpot with a boil basket, along with a deep-fry thermometer that clips to the side. Heat oil over high heat to 365°F. (Note: Depending on the oil, it will begin to burn between 400 and 450°F and will catch fire around 500°F. So be very careful to monitor temperature.) Once the oil reaches 365°F, reduce heat to low and monitor temperature, keeping oil at 365°F.

3. Meanwhile, prepare the beer-batter mix according to package instructions. Dredge patty in mix. Place patty in boil basket and lower gently into hot oil. Cook until patty's internal temperature registers 160°F on a meat thermometer.

4. Remove from oil, drain on paper towels. Serve on bun, topped with the cheese and condiments of your choice. (Note: Be careful not to bite into this too soon after cooking. The molten cheese could deliver quite a scalding.)

RE: Check Register Tip - Round Up
OMG. I'm from the old school. If I'm over or under even .01 cent I have to/need to, find where the error is. I could never do my checkbook the way you all suggest. This is the way I was raised and I suspect I'll probably never change.
I remember once at work, no computers then but did have a calculator, it took me forever finding a .02 error. It was a business and I did find it, actually to the good.
I suggest keeping your checkbook to the pennies and you won't have any worries. ... View related article.

RE: Getting Coupons for Free
You mention that it's too expensive to PRINT coupons off the internet, the library charges .25 per page and the Sunday paper didn't add up to the cost of purchasing it. I get a Sunday paper but it comes in the mail and they don't send coupons because of postage.

I print most of my coupons online. The cost of the paper and the coupons I print more than make up for the cost of the paper. I go to www.afullcup.com and print coupons. There are hundreds of them. If some coupons don't print a full page,(depends on the number of coupons your printing) I use the rest of the paper for notes. Or you can shred it and use it to start a charcoal grill. Nothing is wasted. Buy your printing paper in bulk. Cheaper by the dozen.

Like others have said, join a coupon trading website. Only thing is, then you have postage to pay OR they can email them and you have to print them anyway.
