| RE: Ready Made Salads In Ziploc Bowls |
|
What a super idea! Making salads is one of my least favorite things to do. Maybe put the fixings in a baggie or wrapped in plastic inside the container? I love salads, just not the fixing. If it was ready to go, I know I'd eat more. ... View related article. |

Great Idea! I never thought of it. But now that you mentioned it, I have seen fabric strips crocheted and I wonder if that is how they do it witha large hook? I have a crocheted fabric purse that everyone comments on that was a gift. Just an idea that I want to try! ... View related article. |

| RE: Make Mashed Potatoes Ahead |
Hi, Great Idea but a Warning! A few years ago I was shocked to find out that potatoes, pasta, rice and cooked beans (dried) could cause food poisoning. The article stated that you have to treat them as you would a meat to avoid growth of bacteria. In other words, keep refrigerated unless eating in the same time frame as meat. Probably leaving them in the frig until heating them up would keep them safe. I couldn't find the original article, but here is one that might explain the bug in question. http://www.extension.iastate.edu/fo ... ns/index.cfm?parent=37&articleID=166 The original article explained that many picnic food poisonings might be due to these foods being neglected. Love the idea of fixing it ahead, though. :)

| RE: Urine Odor on Microfiber Couch |
Hi, I know 2 products that work. First Choice: Complete Stain N Odor Remover I bought mine at Target. It really works, has a pleasant scent, and is inexpensive. We have a dog and an elderly mum. Although I don't use it often, it really gets EVERYTHING out and makes it sanitary as it kills bacteria as well. I would saturate it and allow it to penetrate down into the couch. It's clear liquid, but you may want to test it on an inconspicous spot. I keep some in a bottle to refresh floors an couches from puppy feet. It's in the pet section. Second Choice: Odo-Ban also works.
Hope this helps you. Urine scent is hard to remove because the uric acid crystals stay on the fabric and when there is moisture in the air the scent will return. Have not experience that with the Complete. ... View related article. |

Great encouraging idea! I have been wanting one of those pretty, girly ones that are out there for women. But I could decorate the box or have a humorous or encouraging saying on mine. I hate always asking my husband to fix things if I could do it. There's enough I can't do. Thanks! ... View related article. |

| RE: Relieving Itching for Dogs |
Hi, Fish oil capsules and flax seed capsules. You can give them what you give yourself and not buy the expensive ones at the vets.
Sorry to hear about your pups.
Our airdale had terrible itching and scratching due to allergies and hotspots to the point where he would bleed from the gauges and we had to put a cone on his head. His underbelly, back, head, everywhere. We tried everything for years...shots, prednisone/cortisone, tea tree oil, hydrocortisone creams, even benedryl didn't touch it, etc. It wasn't until we started giving him fish oil capsues and flaxseed capsules that it stopped almost totally. We gave him the ones from Sam's, but you can get a great deal on buy one get one free at drugstores. They work in the body from the inside out and are an anti-inflammatory. The vet was impressed and so were we. We didn't want to keep him on prednisone as that is hard on the liver.
Hope this at least might give your pups some relief. It won't cure the mites but might help with the inflammation they cause.
For years I was extremely sick with asthma and allergies myself. Started taking the oils along with some other supplements and I rarely need meds now. Use to max out my meds before. Our bodies need the Omega 3's or we can get sick in a myriad of ways. I really hope this helps you! ... View related article. |
