"Worlds of Fun is inexpensive and a Great Amusement Park for kids and adults."
Well... imo I wouldn't call World of Fun inexpensive, but if you are going to go here are some "tips":
You can find discount coupons around Kansas City, I believe Dairy Queen is one such place. Price Chopper is another. (MUCH cheaper than at the gate.)
Call to see if they still honor their $5 off with any Toyota key promotion.
They have .25 cent cotton candy this season (all season long)
Junior and Senior prices are $9.95 I believe, but I think they raised their regular admission to make up for this. 2 and younger are free.
and finally...
08/21-08/27 ~ PUBLIC SAFETY APPRECIATION WEEK (WOF) August 21-27, 2006
"POLICE OFFICERS, FIREFIGHTERS, EMTS, MEMBERS OF THE ARMED FORCES. Present your public safety ID at the Main Entrance August 21-27, 2006 for FREE admission to Worlds of Fun or Oceans of Fun!"
The nice thing about Kansas City (Kansas and Missouri) is that you can get around the Metro Area in roughly 30 mins. or so (pending traffic of course) Here's some stuff you might check out, most are free, all "cheap" to do:
Deanna Rose Children's Farmstead (Free) $4 Movie and $4 Popcorn/Drink Combo (Select Theatres) 25 cheap or free things to do with your kids this summer in KC (Article) Wyandotte County KS Things To Do: http://wyandottecountyks.com/entertainment.htm

I just downloaded it and am curious to see how well it works. I hadn't noticed a 'freebies' section here before... cool! Good thing I have the ThriftyFun RSS feed in my gmail account! :) ... View related article.
Update: Since my last post, I have found that Target stores in my area seem to have some of the best cleareance in new videogames. Sure, you can't just show up and expect to find a clearance game, but if you check often enough (I try to check once a week) you might just find some great deals.
And of course, as I stated in my first point "1. Research: Read up on which games are worth your money and then you'll be informed on which are quality and which are junk." and second point "check the clearance aisles for the quality (not junk) titles that may be found there. I'd rather spend a little more for a quality title then less for junk that won't get played after a week or so." It's good to know what is a good game before you pick it up just because its cheap.
Some examples that I've found this week include: $7.48 for Polarium and Trace Memory for the Nintendo DS, and $4.98 for Dragon Ball GT GBA Video. Yes, there were other games, but only these were worth mentioning (IMO). :)
So, check those clearance aisles with a little knowledge and you will be prepared for that birthday gift coming up!
Another Note: Target clearances have been different from others I've been too (Walmart, Kmart, etc.). If a particular item isn't selling, they will clearance it, never mind they have the same item still on the shelf for full price (this has been my experience). They will clearance it just because they have too many in stock, even if its selling fine. It's hard to explain, but I'm sure fellow Target Clearance Shoppers know what I mean. ... I think it works better because you're not petting your Nintendog with a plastic stick. :)
Actually, I've been using a QTip to use on the DS since my last post and I've had no problems with it ruining the screen. (And I feel better having the kids use it it too)
I only use the QTip a couple of times (sessions) before the fibers unravel, then I either use the QTip one last time ;) and toss, or just toss. The plastic handled ones seems to work better than the cardboard ones. I also regularly clean the DS screen.
The QTip is just an alternative to using the DS Stylus (so it won't scratch the screen, and picks up any stray dust/oil from fingers, etc.) I have found this tip works really well with my kids. ... View related article.
"Note: Twenty years ago, standard meal sizes at fast food eateries (I wouldn't call them real restaurants) used to be the same sizes as today's small/dollar size! There is a comparison somewhere (look on any diet website or health site)"
I read that too somewhere. The McDonald's All American Meal (same as the Happy Meal, but no toy) was the original Adult Meal. I'm usually happy with just a Happy Meal myself when I go out to McDonalds. ... View related article.
