RE: Removing Sharpie from a Cloth Doll
Wow, what a bummer that they did that! I've had luck before with getting permanent marker off of plastic by using a dry erase marker in the same color by tracing over the writing and wiping it off. It takes a few times though, and might just make it worse since it's on cloth... I'd try maybe to match a flesh colored paint and paint over it as close as you can. Or paint most of the back section to the seams to make it look like it was meant that way...Or cut it out and sew it up to give her an original "scar" so the doll will need extra love and attention:) ... RE: Mock McRibs
Hi,
Melanie here, I'll admit I'm one of those pinch of this/touch of that cooks who doesn't always measure. But to be close for our malts: I fill our blender with about 2 cups of milk, add 3 heaping tablespoons of Carnation powdered "malt" mix, add about 4 cups of vanilla ice cream (almost a half of a half gallon container I think I use) then pulse blend it-sometimes have to stop and help it along by getting the air bubbles out with a quick stir. Add a little more milk if needed but finish by adding a good squeeze of liquid chocolate syrup while its blending. YuMmY!!!! :) hope this helps. This makes enough for 2 adult malts, and 4 little kid malts. We usually make this when the icecream is .99/half gallon...Just play around with it till you get it a taste/consistency you like, but the malt powder is key! I get ours at Walmart by the hot chocolate mixes. ... View related article.

RE: Preparing for an Emergency
Being prepared is such a great idea. We got snowed in every winter when I was a kid. So I always try to keep extra canned food stocked up. Also having enough paper plates, cups, and plastic utensils since there might not be enough water to wash things is a good idea too. Candles, matches, are handy for those winter ice storms.

Below is another good site for a detailed list of what can be in a 72 hour kit. It also has a winter car kit list. I have a friend who keeps everything neatly in a clean 5 gallon bucket by the back door, then if she ever has to evacuate she'll just grab her bucket and go. It's nice to keep food like crackers, granola bars, dry soup packets, & hot chocolate in there too along with all important documents.
Hope this helps, Good luck-Melanie

RE: Caring For Stainless Steel Kitchen Center
You can keep stainless steel clean by using a dry wash rag with rubbing alcohol on it and then just buff clean and dry. I started using this after I saw a Dr. clean his sink with the rubbing alcohol. If it's good enough to kill germs on my skin or at a Dr. office it's good enough on my stainless steel grill. And it does a great job! Keeps it pretty and shiny:) ... View related article.

RE: White Gel Pen for Christmas Cards
I've done this for awhile now at Christmas time, I even send my bills this way through the post office and no problems. The pens I'm talking about are very bright white and actually contrast very well to be seen on the green and red envelopes. For my bills in the month of Dec. I buy the envelopes and forgo the ones that come with the bills, and then write Merry Christmas on the back for whoever opens the envelope. I figure they could use a little cheer too.
But of course it's always important to be careful and have people feel safe though, so your idea is good as well. ... View related article.

RE: Securing Kitchen Garbage Bags
I used to use a bungie cord (color chosen to match the can) and wrapped it around to the back of trash can and used both hook ends hooked together to keep the liner from moving. ... View related article.

RE: Cheap Outdoor Holiday Decorations?
Buy some white PVC pipe and cut into 3 foot lengths (may have to use white paint to touch up the printed sides of the pipe) then use red duck tape or red electrical tape to put the red swirl on your new candy cane sticks. Can line your driveway or walkway with these, and connect them with Christmas lights.

Also to make durable outdoor garland I've used white trashbags. I took a trashbag and refolded it so I could cut strips out of them about 2' wide then use the strips to make garland that sort of looked like a very long Hawaiian leigh, with needle and and a sturdy string or dental floss.

To decorate an outdoor tree we saved the silver circle ends from our frozen OJ these can be painted or left silver and added to tree with red bows by punching a hole in the top.
We've cut stars out of cardboad and covered them in tinfoil.
My daughter thought I was the coolest mom for all the above ideas...
Hope this helps get the ideas going, just be creative and have fun:) ... View related article.
