Profile For camo_angels - My Coffee Cup Runneth Over...
God keeps my coffee cup full as I keep up with my two boys (they are 3 and a half yrs apart), working on my Associates in Criminal Investigation (graduate this October!), and keeping up with my DH and home! I am blessed to be a SAHMomma, and enjoy finding ways to save our money and improve our health! My youngest lives with epilepsy, so now we take things one day at a time, put our troubles into God's hands, and enjoy what we can. I hope that you all do the same too!
I grew up in a rural area, and through the county job service, we were able to sign up for detasseling positions, which was for working in the corn fields pulling tassels. This lasted for 4-6 weeks, and they hired at least the age of 14. There are also others, like weeding bean fields. If you do not have these available, you can offer "gardening" or landscaping services of pulling weeds, raking, etc. Many wouldn't mind a helper, as these jobs take up a lot of time and energy! These can be hourly or by the "project". Tie the gardening with running errands around town (picking up groceries, dropping off library books.) and it can add up! Elderly and caretakers a lot would appreciate an extra pair of hands and feet to save them time.
Putting the word out: fliers (please proofread!) are the best way, especially at the library, grocery/drug store, post office, senior center, churches, etc. Talk with your parents, grandparents and their friends about anyone who may need services. It takes a lot of networking, but that is what helps bring in the money! ... View related article.
For Melody_yesterday: most of the hair trimmers come with videos on how to cut hair, and cover this. My hub does a fade, with the shortest for sides and back, then uses a longer one on top, evening out with the scissors and fine comb. Here is a link for a dvd, it is 27.50 but filled with ALOT of information...I may buy it for myself!
I do this with the Libby's pureed pumpkin (big can) and freeze it into cubes. I bought that instead of the baby food sqaush (a can costs 1.75 year round.) I also discovered it tastes EXCELLENT in macaroni and cheese, just do not go over 1/2-1/3 cup per box. The kids get their vita A and I feel better about it! I love to add it in stew, sauces, and of course the desserts! ... View related article.
I had a home with dark green carpet throughout the upstairs (log walls) so we went with earthtones, mixed with warm mauves or cranberry accents, ivory background, etc. Off the top of my head, purple or reddish-purple is a compliment (opposite) on the color wheel for green, so floral motifs or anything that naturally sets the two together works real well. I hope that helps! ... View related article.
I would check at a shoe repair or higher end store and see about dye, or if they are standard black/brown, then give them a good polish. I personally use babywipes for the initial cleaning, as it keeps things supple, but the ingredients knock out the grimiest mess. Good luck! ... View related article.
I use Windex WITH vinegar (no ammonia) EVERYWHERE (really is vinegar & alcohol, but I found it at one store for dirt cheap, and even used it on the carpet to my pleasure!), then clorox wipes for weekly disinfection and as needed on toilets and kitchen; Murphy's oil soap for the linoleum and wood/greasy messes; scrubbing bubbles for the toilets (the pads you flush, because I have a snoopy two year old and hate the leaky bottles.)The original scrubbing bubbles is great for soap scum, too, but the Windex/Vinegar is a good one. Arm&Hammer makes a shower spray that works wonderful, too...IF you remember to spray all the time!
On carpet I use Folex (at walmart) or the Windex in a pinch. The folex works great on my furniture, too.
I stock up whenever things are on sale and use half the reccomended amount.
Wow, I haven't thought of a name for my drawer, as I already have the junk drawer. I throw my lids, twisties and produce bags in another drawer for food related things. I used my old sturdy lids for baby plates, being the right size! ... View related article.
I had some of that duck shelf liner leftover after I did my cabinets, so I put it on the top of my refridgerator. I know I shouldn't, but it is the best place for my cereal boxes and big bottles that don't fit in the cupboards, so nothing slips off and I can take it off and wash it to reuse. ...
